Not written a list my self as most things are covered but something like this should be added
The amount of times i have rewound an hour or so, got right into a film and then pressed channel up instead of volume.
I'm guessing there wouldnt be to much code and it would be really beneficial

Good call! This makes it appear more like a bug than an additional feature!

The problem of losing your buffer because of a wrong key press is VERY frustrating, and either this 15 sec wait solution or buffering both this and last channel solve it. - this should be in the bug list!!

As a software designer, I prefer customers to describe the problem or feature that they want and more importantly why they want it, Rather than offering up a solution

I'd like the info from the EPG to be saved with the recorded program. I had a Matsui M1602PVR and that saved the info on a recorded program so you could display it if you'd forgotten what the program was about. That's the one thing I really miss about the Matsui box.

The info is saved but is only available when the program is playing. I take it what you are asking for is that the info be available from the recorded programs list.

Is it possible for the function of a remote control button to be changed via the unit's software?

If so, then my wish is for the "List" button to bring up your list of recorded programmes instead of the channel list (which can be brought up using OK), to save having to slide the cover down.

Mark good idea. I tell you what I think is very do-able is what they have done in the software for the same model in Finland. When you press the list button you get the channel list as you do here, and you can press the right arrow button the playlist is one of the items.

My main gripe is that annoying little starting recording message that appears across the screen, do we really need it? what use is it? can I switch it off? please!!

For those at Humax.

I recently obtained a refund on my Humax 9200T from the shop where i purchased my Humax 9200T due to it having a faulty clock display. I then had the intention to purchase a Topfield instead because of the available programable Taps. Having thought hard about this, i have now decided against the Topfield and have just ordered another Humax 9200T which is yet to arrive.

The main reason for ordering another Humax:

Your commitment to continually improving the software, upgrading, correcting the odd problems etc... providing auto padding , chase play etc...

The belief that you will continue to improve the Humax and to add the things that the Topfiled currently provide.

Things that i wish for:

-Increased number of timers as 20 is not enough.

-To provide series link or something similar.

If freeview are not going to make series link possible in the foreseeable future, then for the ability to automatically search words and to then set them to automatically record as the Topfield does.

I like the way it defaults to playing in the recordings list too. That always used to catch me out as my HDD/DVDR does it that way.

Improve the 'Recorded Programmes' plate.

My other main requirement (and this has doubtless been mentioned somewhere in the previous pages) is for some kind of ordering/folder hierarchy for the recorded-programmes list.

It's currently just one long list with oldest programme first. The single solitary thing that the Sony SVR500 did better than the 9200T was allowing you to create folders and move your programmes around. A simple right-cursor drill-down, left cursor-move-up system would be great and would mean I could keep like programmes together.

What are the chances?

More than 20 timers is my main gripe.

What with more channels launching, Film4, Five US and Five Life, and with existing channels such as BBC3 starting to show stuff such as Torchwood, as i write this, my 20 timers are full, with 17 of these being used for either daily or weekly records.

I find that having a PVR, you actually start to watch less "live" tv, and more recordings, with it coming to the point that the vast majority of what is watched has been recorded.

I now go thru' the tv magazine every week, to see if there if there is anything that i want to "tape" that week, and i suppose it is just like the old sky+ ads that used to say "create your own schedule".

Please Humax add more timers, for a PVR with a 160GB hard drive, it doesn't make any sense to just have 20 timers, it wouldn't be so bad, if the box could set reminders, so outside your 20 limit, you could set reminders for other programmes that you can manually tape, but it doesn't offer that either, and in a world where you see a programme that looks good, but your timers is full, and there won't be a slot till say Thursday, and the show is on Friday, but you have seen the advert/mag listing on the Saturday, 4 or 5 days before the timer slot is available to use, you have forgot about the programme/set the timer!!

I want the ability to hide rather than delete channels from the box. On my previous digibox I could hide all the teletext channels and BBCi, 301,302,303 etc so they did not appear in the epg or when pressing the up or down channels button but they would still be selected by pressing red on appropriate channels.

When I tried deleting from the channel lisr, press red would not work on the bbc channels or for channel4's text service.

Also it is missing background scanning for new channels. After rescanning I had to modify my channel list again.

Isn't that what the Favourites lists are for?

Well on my previous box you could have both!

I guess mine would be

1. Storable EPG
2. More than 20 timer recorded settings
3. A dimmable clock display when in standby
4. Ability to 'assign' functions to perhaps the coloured buttons, so something like the recordings list could be assigned to a more visible button!
5. Ability to remove the onscreen 'press red' logos if required (annoying when watching things like the 10.00pm news)

lancer, try the green button for number 5. I dont know for sure but i think it works for many STBs

No. I have never owned one. I am just going by what the manual says.

Only joking. I am at work so couldnt check it for myself.

We still talk about "taping" stuff in our house too. I guess that term is going to survive long after rolls of brown stuff have been consigned to the museum - in the same way that film clips are "footage" or even the word "film" itself. Do you "film" things with a hard disc camcorder?

And don't forget to tell the kids to "pull the chain" when they've finished in the loo.

With the proposed enhancements predicted for the next release, my wish list is down to just one item - but it's one that gets me really hot under the collar.

Under no circumstances (except, perhaps, being put into standby) should the box discard the contents of the 2hr auto record buffer.

If the user switches channels, just append the new channel output to whatever is already buffered. If the user presses menu, game etc. do what you like (either append current screen contents or suspend appending to the buffer) but whatever you do, DON'T delete what's already there.

I have missed too many ends of programmes because of this "feature".

I would like the epg changed so that when you advance through from left to right it should go by the size of the programme, so if it is a two hour film then pressing right targets you on the next programme. My previous box did this and it made navigating the epg that much quicker.
