Along with this, I find that when I modify the scheduled to extend a further hour such as House, modifying the end time to encompass Greys, then the EPG shows a recorded scheduled mark for House only, even though it does record the full two hours.

I very much agree with this. Its great to have a PDC type function in the form of 'Accurate Recording' - but very irritating that it chops off the start and end every time!

I have just purchased a 9200BTX and I am very happy with it so far.

I have some feature requests :-[LIST=1][*]Deactive SCART before blanking picture and shutting down. [*]Add minutes before and after when using series link feature. [*]Faster EPG (I know this may have has already been noted).[/LIST]It is really annoying that the 9200BTX holds onto the SCART socket for so long while shutting down. It takes several seconds before the TV is in Normal mode again, my wife asked "Is it broke"???

To overcome this I do the following :-[LIST=1][*]Pull back flap. [*]Press "SOURCE" button. [*]Presss "Off" Button.[/LIST]If this could be done automatically at switch off life would be grand.
As a software author and hardware engineer, I would imagine that the above requirement ought to be VERY easy to implement.

I can't say I've noticed much delay on shutdown (then again I tend to turn the TV off before the PVR!), but the one that throws me all the time is the loader screen which appears quickly (good) before getting to 100% then vanishing and taking twice that time before it displays an empty now/next banner, and finally a picture

I have to second point 2 - it shouldn't be needed, but some broadcasters are a bit poo - the PVR wakes up 10 minutes before the programme starts - why not record for this period, then when selecting playback just start at the point the broadcaster says? (i.e when selecting a recording it would start playback from around the 10 minute mark?)

9300T - USB to be active please.

I have just bought the 9300T, and IMHO it is a good, though far from perfect, product. My personal wish list (so far)!:

1. Get the INFO button to give you details of the selected recording in the "library" screens, rather than dump you into live TV.

2. Stop the horrible "scheduled recording about to start" message when you are watching live TV!

3. Enable a "filing cabinet" system for different types of recorded programme: "film", "documentary", "entertainment" etc. Even better, allow the user to define the folders.

4. Make the series link get the start time and end time right!

5. Allow the deletion (rather than the removal) of programmes in the "selected" list.

6. Allow deletion by placing the cursor on a recording, instead of having to unselect all the other selected programmes first, which is a real chore!

THESE! ASAP! So easy for them to add/fix the above too.

Yes - someone was drunk or on drugs when they put that in - maybe it's debug code that was left in by accident. Luckily I never watch live TV normally but I have seen it occasionally and been puzzled.

Of Bestbear's last two points above, he is referring to the selected files list which allows chosen recordings to be consecutively played back without intervention, and bizarrely allows those same files to be deleted with little obvious warning despite the highlight cursor being positioned on a different recording name.

A feature that I had on my Tivo many moons ago that I used a lot was recording by keyword search.

e.g. I could enter a keyword such as 'premier league' and any program in the EPG with a matching phrase in the title or description was recorded.

You never had to repeat the search, once you had entered it, all programmes that matched where recorded, until you deleted the keyword.

I found lots of interesting programmes using this method, that I would have otherwise missed.

Also, please remove the 'start recording by reservation' message, it's mighty annoying when you are watching something else, or at the very least, move it to the bottom of the screen.

Based on the 9150T

1. Faster loading of epg data - adding an optional cache download in Standby or overnight, but not relying on it alone to impreove speed - Panasonic know how to do this - go ask them!

2. When selecting a recorded item for playback, dont force the operator to press OK + Exit. Design it so you only have press the OK button to start playback, in full screen. Every other box maker can do this, please fix asap!

3. Put the radio listings at the end of the tv listings in the epg, as it appears on every other box. Having the radio listings on a different screen (red key press required + navigation keys for popup menu), means many people wont ever bother with the radio section.

4. Reduce or stop the fan noise.

5. Speed up Startup and Shutdown times.

That would be useful - I think the only reason the 9200T doesn't save the EPG to HDD is that it caused problems in the 8000T.


Use the playlist, not the menu option. It shows more programmes too.

Create a Favourites list with all the TV and Radio programmes you are interested in, in the order you want them.

I think they are working on this one. I don't know why Humax are so keen on noisy fans - my Feb 2006 9200T has a barely audible fan that is on all the time.

My 9200T starts up in 15 seconds which I think is OK for this sort of appliance.

Nonsense, this is an oft repeated party line. It is SMOP to start recording the program (say) 10 minutes before the scheduled start time, and then put into the recording (say) the previous minute of the recording before the broadcasters start signal.

This wouldn't matter if Humax could be bothered to implement the equally simple padding + series link.

I despair, my Tivo was doing this nearly 10 years ago - I gave Humax the benefit of the doubt 3 years ago when I bought it, but it's getting beyond a joke now.

My number one wish list item (having just bought the new Foxsat HDR) is concerning the various screen sizing options provided by Humax's software. The "Auto" function is useless and should be replaced with a function much like Sony's "Smart" setting. Why? Because "Smart" makes a better job of getting the aspect ratio right no matter what the actual size since it doesn't just adjust the horizontal in the way that Humax's "Auto" function does, it also adjusts the vertical in proportion thereby avoiding the dreaded "fattyvision" (which I hate with a passion on 16:9 screens). Come on Humax!!?? It really can't be THAT difficult to implement!

1. Allow padding and series link to work together
2. Allow padding and auto tracking to work together
3. Allow padding and split program to work together

Basically, why disable all these functions when padding is selected. The program is still selected from the EPG and hence can be tracked in the same way still.
We've just installed our 9150T, replacing a DHD4000, and on both the first 2 programs we've recorded, it's missed the start and end.

Based on my 9150T....

If I set an item to record, and I already have two recordings scheduled, I would like to be given the option to dump one of the existing schedules if possible, from that pop-up, rather than have to go hunt it out and cancel it.

Also, in similar circumstances, if I am offered an alternative timeslot to record the same programme, I'd really like some way to make sure I'm not going to record the signed version.

That's up to the broadcasters putting the appropriate codes on the EPG - i.e. not showing signed and unsigned programmes as repeats of each other.

Please Humax - buy yourselves a TIVO remote controller and study it for a while! it is a thing of beauty and the easiest and most intuitive controller i have ever used.
