All that's needed is a deletion of the specific channels and rescan...

Seconded.”

Not possible... Reservations are lost because before an auto-scan all channels are deleted.

Do a manual scan with network search enabled which is effectively the equivalent of the old auto-scan i.e. prevents deletion of reservations.

Anybody know if it is possible to hide the time bar at the bottom of the screen on a 9200 when in fast forward? If not, it's on my wish list.

There was a Japanese horror film on last week called 'One Missed Call' which I could have watched at X2 speed (except for the creepy bits) if the time bar didn't obscure the sub-titles.

Press the Exit button on the remote. (Restore it with Add Bookmark.)

Wow, thanks. I trawled through hundreds of threads, tried 'advanced search' and keywords, and several various attempts in Google with no success.

Exit works in Pause as well.

Rumours currently flying around about the new update for the HDR certainly suggest that many of the popular 'wishes' should hopefully be on their way soon, so I guess it's time to think of some new things to wish for!!!

I would like to see a future update that includes an http interface for the recording schedule (password-protected obviously!) so that I can connect to the box remotely to check and update programme bookings.

As this thread was started in 2005 In think the expectation is that it is only concerned with the Humax PVR 9200T (plus the 9150 and 9300 maybe) and not the HD units.

I would like to see the ability to transfer video on to the Humax boxes in the same way that you can currently transfer photos and music. I know you can do it via 3rd party applications but doing it natively would be far easier, i.e. to be able to read avi or mpeg video files on usb and transfer them directly on to Humax hard drive.

I have an HD Fox T2.

The menu skin is grey on black. The menu skin is terrible on a non HD TV. It looks as though it was only designed for use on large TVs where the TV is too large for the room. It is difficult to read when the room is the right size or larger. I wish it had a normal skin as well as a front row cinema skin.

The HD/HDR Fox T2 have series link but if you want to add padding it then sticks to all series. I wish to apply it to only the series that I know are bad at accurate recording. (I know that some have never ever seen this happen but for me it is really big – it’s a third of my recordings.)

I wish SD recordings from the HD FOX T2 are decryptable.

For freeview there is the HD/HDR or the old 9000 series. I wish that all the useful functionality of the 9000 was available on the HD/HDR e.g I wish to use FF and FR on all channels not just those with video e.g. on play back I wish to be able to jump by keying in the offset.

I wish for a shakeup of the range. Paying over £200 for a Humax recorder which lacks useful features that cheaper models have is off putting.

I know this is supposed to be for the 9200 but things need to evolve.

I have a Foxsat HDR. The top changes I'd like to see:

1. Too many times we stopped watching something only to flick back to normal TV and see a spoiler for something else we were recording. I'd like the option to have a blank background when browsing menus rather than having the TV in the background.

2. When stopping watching and something else has recorded that is not already in a folder the line you are on defaults to something further up the list and not on the program just watched. A couple of times when not really concentrating have deleted the wrong item. Very annoying. Can it be changed to keep the actual position rather than the relative one?

3. Not having to wait until an item is deleted before doing another one.

Thanks.

Can't you tune the box into a channel that doesn't show anything on the screen? On my 9200 I use 303 (which doesn't exist any more but I haven't retuned recently). An alternative could be "Channel Zero" on LCN 306.

No, the trouble is that it generally tends to default a channel to waht it is recording.

I have a HDR Fox T2 and have used it since purchase in September of 2011. I have to say that overall, I am very pleased with its features and performance. Only the odd missed recording (usually with the message "unable to track programme", or similar), but no real operating or reliability issues.
However, prior to the Humax I had a TVonics and prior to that, an Inverto. Both of these had much better chase-play handling capabilities. The Inverto was actually way ahead of its time and my Humax seems quite medeival in comparison.
What I am referring to is the Humaxs annoying trait of dumping you out of a recording if you catch up with the live broadcast! You then have to exit the recording library and then switch to the channel being recorded to continue viewing. Hopeless!
I use chase-play a lot for commercial channels. If an hour long programme starts at, say, 9pm. I will set it to record and then start watching at about 9.20. Doing this on my previous PVRs meant skipping the ads and catching up with live TV near the end. The recording then just carries on seamlessly with no interruption.
This issue with the Humax is really ruining my enjoyment of it and, for a quality name as such, this should be addressed.
I have noticed that software upgrades are very thin on the ground from Humax. I get the impression that Humax believes its PVR to be perfect. Well it isn't and if other manufacturers can sort out the chase-play issue, surely Humax can?
A bit long-winded but thats my main wish-list item.
If Humax are unwilling to address this, then as its a much-used feature for me, a change to TVonics may be the only answer. Anybody want a HDR Fox T2?

Presuming it's the same as the Freesat boxes, if you use the forward skip key when you are close to real time it stops working when a skip would go over the end of the buffer.

By default forward skip is +2mins and reverse -15seconds. Two forwards is pretty close to perfect for ad-breaks.

The solution to that is easy, instead of viewing the channel that is recording and rewinding backwards, just select the programme from the media list.

The feature I miss from the 9200 is the ability to know how much space a particular recording is taking up. Its useful to work out the bit rate, or which film to watch that will free up the most space.

He is, that's what chase play means.

Strange, I don't remember ever getting chucked out into Live that way.

Chase play, just means you are watching with a time lag, it doesn't necessarily mean you have gone in via the media list.

Incorrect.

Chase Play is short for chasing playback. ie chasing a recording as it happens.

Pausing a live transmission and using the timeshift buffer file is timeshifting.

For the latter you have to be watching the channel, if not there's no buffer to access, chasing playback you don't.
