Did I miss something in Eastenders, I thought there was suppose to be a 2 minute silence in the episode?

I think, overall, the episode was fine.
I was worried at the start though that the show would be a bit cheesy. There's always that risk when they change the format or try new things. I'm not sure whether I was really sad, I thought Alfie over did the crying slightly and then suddenly ended it oddly. |

![]() My wife and I visited her grandfathers grave in France a few years back. He was a doctor in WW1 and died after he gave his gas mask to a wounded soldier..... It was sad to see so many lines of white headstones. But what really got to me was the three or four rows at the front, each marked with the words 'Unknown Soldier'.

The episode must have brought back many memories for yourself and your wife. |

IMHO i thought it totally sucked as most people just dont care about her. I would rather of had a mitchell epiosde than that rubbish.

I thought it was great the scene when Nana was sitting at the dressing table and looking into the mirror was so emotional and when Alfie read the letter then the two walking away from the grave 9/10

So please tell me what sucks about that? At least this storyline reflects a real life event, and not another Mitchell story. Dont mean to offend, but this is just my opinion

No, what was sad was the real 109 yr old guy in Calais yesterday ,now that was sad ,one of the last ten who survived WW1
soap actors never make me sad ,they are only play acting ,unless of coarse they are a tribute to one of the actors who have died,ie Seth,Alf Roberts, and Stan Ogden

Eastenders is a soap so it was rubbish people dont watch Eastenders for a history lesson and fans dont want that in a soap. If you was that borthed by the the events , people should of just watched the news for the last few days as thats why we have the news.
