If this ever happened, I think that the judges would save Maria. I know all three like Shayne, but Simon would end up making the final choice and he is crazy about Maria, so I think he would save her.

I think Shayne because he would be the most likely to have major success. He already has a large teenage following, plus a lot of over 21s like me are also supporting Shayne!

If that were the case, he wouldn't end up in the bottom two during the stages where the judges votes still count. So assuming he did end up in the bottom two in the next few weeks, Simon is bound to work out that his large following isn't big enough. Assuming Maria's fans are less likely to vote than Shayne's fans, he might concluse that she's the one with the biggest market out there.

But I think it would all depend on what happened to them to end up in the bottom 2. Was is a one-off unfortunate performance, or was it all part of a down-ward trend in popularity that isn't going to change?

If Simon really thought both of them could have a career, then Shayne's the one who has the best chance of making it without winning X Factor, because his fans are more likely to buy Smash Hits and all that. Maria would get the most benefit out of winning the show, so he could make a tactical decision based on that.

Absolutely, positively and without a doubt Shayne. I honestly don't think the judges are that enamoured with Maria, and going by the bookies she's fourth favourite for elimination tonight I can't see Maria making the final three.

Agree with you. Maria is probably the perceived 'favourite' who is in the most danger of being in the bottom two tonight but she could shock people and have a great performance.

I think they would keep Maria. She has never got negative criticism and the rave about her. But with Shayne it's always kinda neutral...

I reckon Shayne would be saved. More marketable (all those teenie girls just waiting to put his pic on their walls) and (in my opinion) more charismatic.

Maria has a good technical voice but her performances are cold and emotionless. I think she probably has the best technical voice in the competition but there`s just something lacking with her........

The mentors would each vote for their own so Simon would have the casting vote and with him its going to be ££££ all the way so it will be Shayne.

After all if the rumours are true and Louis HAS said he wants to manage Shayne.. SC would be the one to sign Shayne if he was to win...>>£££

i reckon they would pick maria,because she is very concistent and has a great voice.if they now stopped teenage girls voting,shane would be propebly in the bottom 2 tonight.i reckon he thinks he has it won,and he is a sneak,hiding his girlfriend in case some of his fans might not vote for him.he is a tosser.hope he goes soon.he does not deserve to win.
