Another 9200 problem?

Hi all, I puchased a 9200 last week and I have an issue that I haven't seen listed before, when it boots up the RF signal goes very grainy this last around 10 seconds, and also effects 4 other tvs around the house that are fed through the 9200.

This has never happend with any other units (Sat, Video,or 8000T), has any one else had the same happen or have I a faulty box?

I recall this being reported elsewhere on this forum, and it happens on my box, so it's probably "normal". Part of the boot process must be powering down the rf buffer circuitry, so what you are probably seeing is rf signals picked up by the cables after the 9200.

Doubt if this can be fixed by software, as it's part of the loader. Being used as a rf distributoin system for 4 TVs probably isn't a common use

You could probably fix this by using a separate aerial splitter/booster

I would use mine to distribute to 4 TV's. It happening for 10 sec or so after booting would just be a minor irritant though.

Surely this should not be normal, it does not occur with the 8000T ?

Unless you have a strong objection I suggest you leave the box on most of the time. That will also avoid the need to wait for the guide to be re-populated. See Q0005 in the latest list on the FAQ thread.

It all depends or your definition of "normal"

I think the dual tuners would be the obvious reason that the 9200 does this and the 8000 doesn't.
