Shayne ''Timberlake''
Shayne singing Cry me a River to me is a bit ametuer for such a big competition, watching it i'm sure will remind me of school days watching the school talent show. It just doesn't work. I mean the song is not really testing him vocally. Shayne should be original and try and avoid the whole justin timberlake tag or for his career he will constantly be remembered as the British Justin Timberlake and that can be a very bad thing as it can get quite boring. If your to be compared to someone all the time, it would be better if it were someone GREAT, like Aretha Franklin, Lionel Richie, Abba, The bangles; People that have really left a mark in music history. Not JUSTIN!-COME ON!

Journey South are an act at most threat with their song choice as the song can sound too karaoke at the best of times. Still sticking with my bottom two prediction of Maria and Conway Sisters but the public never cease to leave me puzzled.
People are always going to dislike one or two of the acts because if we all liked the same, there would be no program! I try and base my opinions on what i've seen of the person so far. I'm not a 'Shayne hater' as such-if he suddenly started performing good songs really well, i would change my mind.

I think you are all over analysising this.
He looks like Timberlake a bit, he can hit the notes, the 'ladies' will love it, and as long as he does not mess it up badly, it will make him an even stronger favourite. I am looking forward to Andy's rendition of the Boyz to men song as I love that, and I think he will do it well. However, i cannot see how Shayne cannot fail tonight, unless he messes the notes up, and whats wrong with being compared to Justin. I know I wouldn't min it........

I thought he sounded great in the sound check - refreshing to see him doing a contemporary tune.
As for it being easy - it is actually a very difficult song to sing well due to the changes between head and chest voice which need to be spot on. Let's face it though - alot of people are so down on Shayne that even if he came on and did the best performance every seen on British TV - they would still say it was karaoke. |

![]() I think if Shayne put a different dance style in, it would look more original and 'his own'. I do prefer Shayne with the more uptempo song though, so that's a positive. |
