Putting an o2 sim in a Vodafone phone?
I always thought that Vodafone and o2 sims and phones were interchangable, but I've tried putting an o2 sim in my phone from an old Vodafone contract, and I just get the message "insert correct sim".
Where am I going wrong? |

Vodafone lock their phones to their network, O2 do not from my experience, so maybe you've tried it the other way round before.

Have a look in the unlocking thread, or post here the details of the phone make & model. the network it's locked to and the 15 digit IMEI number (which you get by typing *#06# )

I wouldn't put my IMEI number up on a forum for all to see. Better off editing that out.
As far as I know, you need a cable + software to unlock a Sony phone. Or you could go to a shop and pay them to do it. |
