I was listening to Shayne (whilst drying dishes in the other room) ... I heard (yet again) the backing singers more than I heard Shayne
Are they trying to cover up his lack of ability? |

I said this in the other thread Justin Timberlake's voice is much higher pitched than that and he looked like a gay man trying to impersonate JT, dancing was all over da place

That's odd! That was the first time I have thought Shayne was vaguely interesting. I liked it! lol
No, seriously, I did, it made me pay attention to him - he's been far too bland up until now. I think he has what George Micheal once had. Good luck to him. But then along came Maria, and I like what she did too. She put something into that song that the Stones never did - a bit of soul, a bit of tune! Goodness only knows Jagger was never the world's greatest vocalist, no matter what anyone says. It was nice to hear it sung properly! I am really looking forward to the rest of the show, if they're all going to be that good it will be terrific... off to watch it now... |

It did sound rather bad...nothing special at all....in fact it sounded and looked like it should have been on Star in Your Eyes rather than The X-Factor.

To be fair, whenever Justin sang that, he relied heavily on a backing track.
Maria was stronger, but it was obvious she wasn't entirely comfortable with the song. She kept pulling her microphone away too soon as well, which was annoying. |

So Simon thinks Shayne will be the biggest male solo star in about 3 years?
Lets wait and see, he would have to get lots better then he was just now. |

I agree, out of the 3 ive seen they have all been below standard. Andy's performance was boring, the conways can do so much better and Shayne's performance although OK was just an impression of Timberlake.

He was awful. He didn't sing most of the song it was mostly backing vocals.

I switched the tv on and thought that was Craig Coates from Big Brother performing on the screen. Not fond of the new look and his vocals were poorer than ever.
