This is getting difficult now. There were some really good performances tonight...
Shayne - 9.5 (as soon as he walked out, I knew that song was going to work - it was a great, sexy, winning (slightly arrogant) performance)
The Conway Sisters - 9 (in the scheme of things, really exciting; bizarrely, Simon seems to want them out, but I loved the fact they just said FU to him and did their own thing and that they picked a good song that isn't that well known - go them!)
Brenda - 8.5 (fantastic again. I want to see her in the final, but I can see Simon's point: I think she's a hot live performer, but may not stand out as a recording artist)
Journey South - 8 (after a few glasses of wine I found liked it, and it got the crowd going, but it seemed a little contrived with that wee guitar solo... I dunno. Andy looks hotter every week and Carl's a bit of a munter trapped in headlights. Not that looks have much bearing on the matter, you understand)
Chico - 7.5 (he was a bit off-key in places, but 'X' doesn't mean pitch perfect, it has to do with prompting feeling and capturing something uncommon. I thought it was a vulnerable, if slightly hammy, performance - could have done without the twirl and the boyband vest - but good.
Andy - 7 (nice: wonderful, sensual voice and a lovely bloke. The song, though, was a huge pile of Y-fronted pants - what the f.h. was it? Hell's bells, what a tuneless, uninspiring dirge)
Maria - 6 (a strong, versatile singer, given a bit of a crotch-thruster. Okay, she ain't no nun, but Mick Jagger she also ain't. It was okay, but she's capable of so much more)
Nicholas - 3 (ew, ew, ew. He sounded as flat as a flibberin' pancake and I *hate* that song. It was just too awful to describe, which is a shame, because he has something)
**
I guess I'm saying Maria and Nicholas should be in the bottom two, but my bones tell me the British People will shun The Conways and Chico.
