Actually voted for Maria?

I think Louis made the wrong decision, but ultimately the voters put Maria in the bottom two.

Maria is talented, there's no denying that, but she obviously doesn't appeal to many voters, not this week anyway.

So who voted for her?

And who didn't?

And if you didn't, do you still think it's right to blame Louis?

barely anyone actually votes, so that argument is ridiculous.

Louis chose someone because of their nationality, not their talent. it really is as simple as that!!

But, did that 92% vote for Maria? And if not they shouldn't complain, they are as much at fault.

Barely anyone votes? I doubt that, Simon Cowell is making money, otherwise he wouldn't do the show.

Maria was in the bottom two, this is a woman who has been feted on many threads on here as a probable 'global astist', strange that she was in the bottom two at this stage of the competion, unless people think that having an opinion means the same as voting and actually supporting someone they see as talented.

The reason no one votes is the same reason a lot of people don't vote in elections. What difference does it make anyway when the judges have the final say, and make those sort of choices?

I didn't vote Maria, and I'm not really complaining that she went out. I didn't want her to win, but whether you voted for her or not, I think most people can see she should have stayed.

I am just utterly shocked by what's happened tonight.

Errr... a lot of Simon's wages come from the advertising revenues ITV recieve.

the voting figures is only a VERY small part of it.

It isn't ridiculous at all - its a perfectly valid argument. If she had got the votes she wouldn't have been in the bottom two.

End of.

Well enough people sit there and say that then that is why things never change. If you do not exercise your right to vote then you cannot complain when things don't go your way.

Cut and paste the following in an email to dutyoffice@itv.com

I am sending this e-mail to express my disgust at the way in which a quite obviously talented singer, Maria was ousted from the X Factor, 12/11/05 on ITV1. It appears that the current format in deciding who stays and who goes from each show is based on the prejudices of the judges and their need to keep their own acts in as opposed to making a decision based on the talent of the singer / s.

There were over 1 million votes and some people do multiple votes so the results rest with a little amount of people compared to how many are watching.

Angie

My point exactly.

I vote for one, sometimes two, acts per week. A few for JS because I want to support them throughout the competion, then one for whoever I think was particularly good that week.

I can post on here and give my opinion on who should go home and who should win, but as I didn't vote for Maria tonight, I can hardly complain that she's gone. I have voted for her in the past, tonight didn't do it for me.

think about it though the viewers didn't like the song
they loved her song last week..they gave her a duff song
maria must have thought the judges would save her

"End of?"

No. No. No. She was on second. this can't have worked in her favour. Those that performed last had the best chance.

secondly, a lot of people perhaps who liked Maria just didn't vote. She was presumed safe, wasn't she?

Also, there are obviously some poeple who spend all evening with the phone on redial.. here I am targetting people like Shayne.

Maria was popular, its just a lot of people don't vote.

its like Coronation St and EastEnders. EE always win the viewers vote even if its been shite, because their fans are the voting type.

I didnt vote for Maria, but yes I think it is right to blame Louis.

None of the studio audience voted, yet they disagreed with louis. Ben Shephard and Kate Thorton ddn't vote, and they clearly disagreed with Louis.

At the end of the day whats happened has happened, unfortunetely there is no turning the clock back, what we must do now is make sure it doesnt happen again and make it so the bottom 2 next week are either Nicholas or Shane together with the Louis beloved irish zzzz sisters

I think you are agreeing with me.

She did not get enough votes to save her. If people are so bothered about her going through then they should have voted for her. Obviously not enough people did or she wouldn't have been in the bottom two.

The thing that needs to change is beyond the publics control. That's the judges decision.

This is why the voting system is wrong.
I didn't vote for anyone because, like everyone else (probably) I have (had) 4 favourites and can't decide yet who is the better.
The show would be MUCH fairer if we were asked to vote for who we want to "evict".

Oh dear again. I don't suppose explaining it again would be much use, so I won't bother. I've thought of something easier to say:

"Cornchips you are so right well done you took the words right out of my mouth spot on mate "
