Rate tonight's performances
We usually have this every week - but tonight it seems to have been lost in the whole Maria Debacle.
I'll go first .. in order of preference on performance tonight alone: Shayne - for me the best overall performance of the night. It was different and contemporary and fun to watch. JS - I love that song and they did a great job, i agree though that they do need to lighten up a bit and show they are having fun. Brenda - a good consistent performance. I don't think she was as good as last week - but the song wasn't as good so that didn't help. She needs to get a handle on the shouting a bit. Andy - I think he struggled a bit with this tonight - although I was glad to see a bit of his personality coming through and he sung with a bit more passion than he normally does - I think he usually sings by numbers Chico - he did a reasonable job tonight- he can't sing but 10/10 to his voice coach who taught him lots of tricks to make it look like he could at least hold a tune. I saw through it though so probably loads of others did. Maria - same performance as she does every week. Didn't connect with the lyrics or the music - and yet again didn't connect with me. Nicholas - out of tune, boring, did nothing for me. Conways - I can't stand their voices, can't stand there songs, can't stand their arrangements, and can't see their market. Nuff said. |

I don't think Shayne should have taken on Justin. His backing track was more powerful than his live voice at points. It was fake good. The trained ear (or those of us with decent sound systems) heard the real performance. I rate him 4th.
1st JS 2nd Brenda 3rd Maria 5th Andy 6th Nicolas 7th Conway Sisters 8th Chico (if you call that a performance) |

Andy - brilliant. I thought he did a great job singing a four man sing on his own. I was impressed with the way he hit his notes. He definately deserves his place next week. 10/10
Brenda - not the best performance from her, but a good one all the same. I like Brenda and I agreed with Sharon with the point she made about Simon. Brenda has the perfect voice for recording and I would buy her music. 8/10 Shayne - an average performance. Nothing special but still very good. I dont want him to sing another JT song. But he performed it well. 7/10 Maria - not that good of a performance but she was better than some of the shite sung tonight. I am absoultely devastated that she has left. She was my favourite and I really wanted her to win. 8/10 Journey South - brilliant. A great performance tonight and I enjoyed it. I havent really liked them in the past but tonight they showed exactly what they are all about. 10/10 My Bottom Three The Conway Sisters - terrible. What an absoulte disgrace. They were awful, and they shouldnt even be in the competition. They are a disgrace to the competition and should step down before they get voted out. 3/10 Chico - proved that he is all about entertaining. His performance tonight was well below average and it bored me. I know it was for his ill friend, and good on him but he murdered the song and never did it a bit of justice. 2/10 Nicholas - I liked Nicholas when he had his auditon, but now he is enough to send a deaf man asleep. He bored me this evening, and like Chico - killed a good song. 0/10 |

Totally agree with your choices Kontraversial, specially Nicholas. I was rooting for him in the early stages, but lately he is not impressing me at all.
Chico was god awful and i cant believe he stayed and Maria was booted! Conways should be thanking their lucky stars they are are still there! Preferred Brenda last week but still good tonight. Journey South are growing on me , Andy and Shayne were alright too but nothing spectactular

Andy - OK. Not really blown away by it but good and solid. I don't really see his market though. However, i don't want to see anymore old fashioned crooning. 7/10
Brenda - Great again. Very very tough song. 9/10 Shayne - Very plain, very ordinary. Never liked the song. Performance looked like something from Stars in their eyes. What is very clear is that the judges want him in the final. 6/10 Maria - Not her best but i thought it rocked. For something out of her niche it was very polished and professional. 7/10 Journey South - Like them, hated this. Washed up 80's rock shouting. Could tell they hated it too. 6/10 The Conway Sisters - Utter Turd. Tuneless, emotionless and devoid of any entertainment. I can't really think of one thing i like about them. 2/10 Chico - What do we do with someone who can't sing and can't perform. Of course, this is Britain. We vote him through. Joke - 1/10. Nicholas - Whats gone wrong with him. He looked great during the auditions. Its almost like he can't hear the music. He needs to start singing in tune, 2/10 |
