Everybody was off tonight. Even Brenda had a couple of bum notes. I have a hunch there were some technical problems - ie monitor failure. I would love to know.....

I think the backing tracks were too loud on virtually every single performance tonight. Its often the case on these sorts of shows - FA was a nightmare for it.

I don't know about these things but they seem to set it for the live audience - which means it comes across different to the viewer.

I struggled to hear most of them tonight. Only Andy seemed to sing above his track.

I agree, sometimes you couldn't hear the acts and the music/backing singers seemed to drown them out!
BTW, MP3's are available now on my site( link in my profile)

Apart from Shayne and Andy I was a bit disappointed with all their song choices.

Even Brenda who's put in a fab performance every week picked an "ok" song but nothing special for her voice, Maria's was a big mistake, Journey South were a bit karaoke, Nicholas was fairly flat, Conways poor voices, and Chico well I can't be bothered to comment on him because he can't sing anyway. But trying to be Enrique mate - big no no.

Think they all lost their way a bit this week.

The difference between studio and broadcast has been mentioned before, and I don't dispute that it's true, but don't you think it's a bit amateurish? Jeez ITV is celebrating 50 years in the business this year - you'd have thought by now they would know how to set the levels correctly for both studio and TV? Can't be that hard, can it?

I agree with Cornchip (which is becoming a habit. ), the backing was far too loud on most of the performances tonight, the music production was awful.

Yes I agree the backing tracks were too loud tonight but there were several iffy song choices and noone looked at ease with their songs.. well apart from Shayne that is who could have been appearing on Stars in your eyes tonight.....

The way the judges were going on it was as though they are presuming that Shayne, Andy and Journey South will be the three finalists.. How rivetingly boring that would be zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The backing tracks are too loud because people like the Conway Sisters, Chico and Nicholas can't sing, so it helps disguise it.
