Cheer up Journey South!!!
Why are these guys so miserable all the time? They hardly ever smile and have downbeat voices. If they'd just won the lottery you'd wonder who died.
Do you agree? |

Is Carl the one with the guitar, the one that Sharon told to loosen up and enjoy himself or is that Andy?

I don't think they are, i just think they're serious some times because this is their dream they're fighting for. It's working because they've never put in a bad performance yet.

They are not miserable at all...on the ITV2 shows they are very funny.
If you want to go down that road tell the 'Conway Sisters' to smile, or Nicholas or Shayne to as well.

Couldn't agree with the OP less, JS come across to me as normal, decent, honest guys, maybe a bit scared by the pressure but all the more loveable for it. The only other one who seems remotely grounded is Nicholas - the rest come over as showbiz, smiley smiley, shallow and one-dimensional. Go Journey South!! |

Thanks buttercup
![]() Carl - imo was a little less lively on the stage than Andy but then again when you're playing the guitar (and worried about the solo bit) I suppose you would be a little. I didn't think about it till Sharon mentioned it so now I'm gonna look out for it. |

Maybe they're just slowly starting to realise that being involved in such a farcical show is less fun than performing in front of an audience at a pub who genuinely enjoy you

They DID look totally deflated as the last results were being announced. Wasn't Andy shaking his head? The fact is that they were superb last week, but this week the vocals were well below par in certain parts of the song. I don't why this was but have posted my suspicions anout the onstage monitors in another post.

![]() No, I don't agree either. I'm not a blinkered JS fan - I've been supporting Chenai - but I thought their performance last week was outstanding. On the other hand, this week, I thought it was really distinctly average, and I suspect they weren't happy with it either, hence the level of nerves that seemed to be apparent. The song was too high for them, and much as it pains me to say so, I have to agree with Louis that in parts it sounded very karaoke. Besides all that, Carl got lost in the middle of his solo, and it just wasn't good (regardless of what Sharon says!) Having said all that, my impression of JS is that Andy seems really happy, humble and grateful to be there (and not at all big-headed), and Carl seems terribly shy and insecure -I find them very endearing and genuine, not miserable in the slightest. |

Yeah but when they say "We're really enjoying the whole experience", it's like they've just been to a funeral.

![]() But then, according to some FM I've managed to miss the fact that Andy Abraham is apparently the rudest man in the history of television, so what do I know! |
