Sony 510 + VCR hook up
This is how I have mine connected.-
Philips 32W EXT1 EXT 2 inputs. Pace Satellite box. Toshiba VCR. Sony 510. TV ext1----SAT---VCR---Sony---TV ext2. To record Satellite I select Line 3 on Sony. To record from VCR, I select Line 3 on Sony and select the VCR scart output AV2(the VCR AV2 seems to have priority over the satellite signal). To record from HDD or DVD to VCR, I select the VCR's other scart AV1. Both the Sony and VCR can be monitored on the EXT2 TV position. If the Sony has "taken possesion of the scart" then I have tuned in the TV to the Mono output of the VCR and can flick the TV between the two. The VCR mono signal is derived via the aerial cable "composite" and is for connecting VCR's to TV's that do not have scart connectors. You have to be here to believe it--- but it does work. I spent ages sorting it out especially as the manual WARNED TO disconnect the mains lead before connecting up each time. Another way in is via the front connections LINE 2. I have used this from my laptop via S-Video connector cable. (I didn't have audio, so also connected a cable from the headphone socket of laptop to the two Phono inputs alongside the Sony's front S-Video socket. this combination worked.) Good luck PC |
