That interview isn't going to win her any friends I'm afraid no matter how much truth there is in it. When will they learn that sometimes it is better to just stfu? All she had to do was continue to pretend to be gracious in defeat no matter what her real feelings. She had public opinion on her side and now with all that mouthing off about how good she thinks she is and how Simon's going to sign her and she was stitched up by Louis she's just going to alienate all those who were sympathetic to her. Fool.

I don't think she comes across badly in that article. I'd be annoyed if I lost out to the Conway Sisters.... I mean.....!!

Can't believe the Conways supported Westlife!!! It is soooo a fix!!!

They were going on about how shocked they were that Maria had gone out but I thought why not do the decent thing and step aside as she is clearly more talented than them!!

Louis really should've come up with a better explanation than "I just followed my heart.." He is so inarticulate. No matter what the reason for his choice, he should've been able to cite something more acceptable..

Silly woman for speaking out like this. She was in the bottom two - while Louis was an arse, the GBP didn't like her...and they liked Chico and Nick more. Says something.

I'm not surprised at all that she spoke out - she was never the shrinking violet and I think she really thought she had it in the bag.

Its a pity she didn't speak up before she mumbled her way through brown sugar instead of singing it last night. How pathetic , the viewers put her into the bottom 2 not Walsh the Weasel. If she wants to blame anyone tell her to look in the mirror aswell as to her mentor Sharon Osbourne.

I so agree. It's like many people have missed the fact that Maria was the BOTTOM 2!!! Where she should have been, IMO.

I am very glad she's gone - her trilly voice was starting to grate on my nerves.

Maria said she had no regrets about sacrificing her honeymoon with 33-year-old property developer Lawrence, with whom she enjoyed a nine year romance before tying the knot.

Thats it .....I knew I'd seen her hubby before ... he appeared on some DIY programme about buying houses ..... damn it .... I forget what its called ....house auctions something or another.

Sorry off tipoic there

I think Maria has every right to tell it like it is. Its not the first time Louis puts Irish before talent .... remember last year when the auditions went to Dublin ..... he forgot how to say the word No

I think Maria deserved to go. Her initial performance wasn't great but when the pressure was really on in her second attempt, she was so wildly out of tune that it would have been a travesty to put her through. I don't care much for the Conway Sisters - I think they're truly insipid and I'd only buy one of their CDs to use as a coaster - but on the strength of what was performed last night, it could only go one way. Personally, I would have chucked out Nicholas. That was a performance so wet that I had to check the TV for rust afterwards.

I didn't notice she was out of tune, I think she gave a good performance, although The Conways were good too. Last night was the 1st time I have actually enjoyed one of their performances!!

X Factor Maria fumes at being victim of Irish Mafia

Marie so humble in defeat I don't think so, she is victim of TGBP not voting for her. She wants to remind herself why she was in the bottom two...move on girl if you are any good you will make it - if not you won't.

How do we know that she said all those things? That is the first time I have ever even seen that website. I won't believe it until I hear it from Maria herself. I hope Simon does sign her up though, as she is one of the few contestants who deserve a contract.

Maybe, but she's got a point, and the articles not that bad - she doesn't come over as bitter. Besides, this might have done her some good... there's an old saying: "any publicity's good publicity..."
