RECORD CONTRACTS - Your Opinion
Kiss & Tell
13-11-2005
We all know that some artist from all these singing reality shows get offered record contracts after the show and generally it's irrespective of whether they make the final or not. So who do you in your own opinion think will get contracts from this X factor?

I don't think the music moguls give out as many as people think, the last Fame Academy is proof of that when only two were given out and one of them was the winner.

For me and irrespective of if they make the final i think Journey South, Shane and Andy will all receive one.

Maria, Brenda, Andy & Journey South will get contracts and Shayne will probably win anyway.

Chico, Nichollas, Chenai - expect them on a reality show once the XFactors over.

I use to think that maybe Brenda would get one but after Simon said she's better in the west end or something and wouldn't sell albums, i'm not to sure now, especially if he's the one offering the contracts.

If Rowetta can get a contract then Brenda should have no trouble landing one.

As for the others, I'd say Journey South and Shayne (does anyone else find that superfluous 'y' in his name really annoying or is it just me?)

Maria stands a good chance of getting one too.

And it wouldn't surprise me if Nicholas also managed to get something as a cut-price Craig David. He can't sing for toffee but seems to have the right look.

The ones that deserve contracts are Andy, Maria, Brenda, Journey South and Shayne. I reckon Chico will be around for a while, and then disappear. And after a few months the rest of them will be forgotten.

Only Maria deserves one.

If Shayne wins, he will havea couple of number 1 singles and then go the same way Gareth Gates did.

Brenda is fantastic, but I don't think she should get a contract because I don't think enough people would buy her records.

I think/hope Brenda will win so will automatically get a record contract. I have a bad feeling that she might really struggle to get one if she doesn't win. Maria will most definitely get a record contract because she is very talented and extremely marketable. Shane and Journey South will also get recording contracts, but they will only last a couple of months and then fade into obscurity. Andy will get a record contract, and will have a lot more longevity than the likes of Shane and Journey South thats for sure!
I'm not sure whether Nicholas and Chenai will get record contracts, but I hope they do as I'll definitely buy their music.

I can see quite a few getting contracts this year that doesn't mean they'll be a success though.

I'd say
Shayne
JS
Maria
Brenda
Chico

Just Andy.

The rest are a bit hit and miss...
