Has anyone picked up the Chili Peppers' new album yet? I am probably going to get it anyway but I would appreciate any impressions/opinions anyone has.

dodgygeeza, Ive listened to the first four tracks, and my god their very soulful. Far from the funkyness of Californication. Its mellow and very emotional. Its a GREAT album so far.

Yep. It's a top album. There's a lot of quality being released at the moment. Eminem Show, Heathen Chemistry and now this.

Picked it up on my way home today - currently on Cabron, which means bastard in Spanish

Anyway, I love it so far, and I'm sure it'll get even better. Best band ever? I think so

OK, tough question time. We've established the album in general is absolutely top-notch but what's your favourite song on it?

Just like all previous Chili's albums, I can't pick a favourite because it would be unjust to all the other tracks. If I was forced to at gunpoint however, it'd probably be Can't Stop. If I was to pick one again tomorrow it'd be a different one though

I have to say this album is the best album ive heard since U2 release All That You Cant Leave Behind.

My fav song so far is Dosed. What a sweet beautiful song that is.

It is probably the best album to be released this year, and rightfully deserves to knock Oasis off the number one album spot. Not that I'm knocking Oasis, but this is better!

Fave track so far has to be 'This is the Place'. Fantastic!

I hope you're aware that that's exactly what it did last Sunday

A worthy number one, here's hoping it stays there for a few more weeks at least

Indeed. I'm listening to it right now in fact. Pure, classic Chilis goodness - So funky

I love the way the tracks merge into one another so that you don't even notice the change, yet still sound like proper songs on their own. (on random, for example)

Ive got it, it was shot a couple of weeks after I saw them at Slane Castle last year. Fantastic stuff. They opened at the 'Castle with the same Around The World/Give It Away melody. UNREAL.

I met Chad Smith at Slane also. Great chap!!!
