The mayor has issued Pollard with an ultimatum telling him that if he wants to take Henry’s place on the Council planning committee, he must dump Val (in so many words!).

True to form, Pollard has plumped for his career, but when Val kicks off, he hurriedly suggests that they just pretend to have fallen out instead. Oh, that’s so much better Eric, great idea…!

As one love flounders, elsewhere, the chemistry between Steph and Adam is bubbling away nicely. So with a date at the races all arranged, will the budding couple indulge the villagers’ suspicions that there’s something going on?

But it’s not just them! Dawn and Danny are also on the brink of heartfelt revelations, but will they put us out of her misery and admit their obvious feelings for one another?

Get on with it people!

Sorry, it's me being sarcastic. However, she has got a seriously big forehead.

I also love Del as well.

Loved Viv's massive display of poppies

Liking new character Tonicha, she seem to have fitted in nicely..... I'm sure she used to be in a kid series about a group of children who lived in a children's home years ago (not Tracy Beaker lol) and she played a character who was always nagging her little brother who eventually got fostered without her.

I get the feeling we are going to either see Donna and Marlon
1. Marry followed by months of misery before they split.
2. Donna jilting Marlon at the altar
3. Calling the wedding off long before the wedding.

It seems since Max's death Donna has changed her mind about Marlon.

But at least he was put to use today at last (or so it seemed)

Donna is beginning to do my head in.

Loving Steph's hat She has the BEST clothes in the show. Her jealousy is getting quite interesting.

Tonicha and Viv were hilarious. Think Toni needs to tone down the OTT facial expressions and THAT walk tonight, but unlike Kelly Windsor they came across more as part of the character than crap acting.

Charlie Hardwick shone as per usual.

It's funny how new characters grow on you. Initially I really loathed Carl King. In fact it was all I could do to look at the screen when he was on camera. Now, I would say, he is one of my favourite characters in the programme.

Yeah...some actors really do grow into the role as well. Wasn't keen on Lorraine Chase when she started, and the character was a mess, but now she's my favourite along with Val.

Tell me about it! When Paul first came into it I couldn't stand him. I just thought he was crap and creepy and wierd! And now, I daren't miss an episode in case he's in it and pointlessley prattle on about him, on here, for hours!(Although, I do still think he's a bit creepy sometimes. He does a damn good line in lurking!) I guess some people just grow on you. A bit like Athlete's Foot!

And it's interesting that that is highlighted almost by the fact they've suddenly introduced a sort of 'gang' of young characters - Dawn, Danny, Andy, Jo, Donna ... who are hanging out together. Average age about 21, which tonight suddenly made 35 year old Marlon look middle-aged and more like Donna's Dad!

Might just be me seeing it like that, though!

No, I agree. Marlon always seemed middle-aged to me though LOL.

I felt so sorry for him when he looked at her gonig with the others and said quietly to himself something like "what's wrong with now".

She's being VERY irritating at the moment....

Why has Donna changed so much since Max's death. Of course it looked like something might have happened between them so does that mean that Donna doesn't want to be tied down to Marlon anymore as she thinks she can do better?

Did Max and Donna sleep with each other? He was mine!!!!

What is it about those bed-hopping King brothers? It seems they'd all jump on anything that moves!

Nothing happened between Donna and Max, they went to the races once and just talked other times! Bob was right when he told her what she thinks would have happened between them - this perfect picture she painted - is just in her head, created partly because she was upset at the sudden death of a friend, which seems to have created doubts in her head about her relationship with Marlon. They've definitely changed the 'tone' of that relationship (and as I said, they've added into it Donna suddenly mixing with a gang of mates her own age) which is a pity in a way, cos Marlon and Donna make a great pair, specially when there's a bit of comedy involved.

I suppose they're doing it to keep the interest going up to the Christmas wedding, hoping everyone wonders if they'll go through with the wedding or whether Donna will change her mind.
