When did 90% of you jump on the 'Let's hate Shayne' wagon?

It really is starting to annoy me. Shayne is the favourite to win, but all I see on these forums day in and day out is everyone throwing s**t towards Shayne.

He's being called arrogant and cocky for being excited and happy that he got through. Did you not see his face up until that point, he looked as nervous as hell. He has jumped up and down, and shouted "Come on" in most result shows, and because of the whole hate-Shayne bandwagon, people are just picking out bits now. Anytime a Shayne fan says "What about Chico and Brenda? They made more noise" people ignore it.

If this gets removed, so be it, but it's getting out of hand now. Fair enough if you dislike an act, but picking out every little thing and twisting it into something bad is just OTT..

When they all fell off the "Let's hate Chico wagon".

All acts receive criticism. They always do. Shayne is not immune and the criticism gets worse for all of them as the competition continues...and then it tends to get even worse for the winner. Always happens on these shows...sadly.

The criticism directed at Shayne is absolutely nowhere near as strong as the criticism directed at The Conway Sisters and a few others.

I've never liked him so I can't comment on your question.

I think it's more a case of the judges and the producers trying to get everyone to jump on the "Shayne is a superstar" bandwagon that non-Shayne fans and neutrals find annoying.

The whole thing of celebrities appearing on Xtra Factor and almost being goaded to say how great Shayne is just reminds me of the Alex Parks situation in FA2 when celebs were pretty much given a script and cut off in mid-sentence if they said they liked anyone else, particularly anyone who was seen as a threat to Alex, and look at the long-term international megastardom she's achieved.

Er his ego? People don't like people who have big egos and Shanye has a massive one not to mention he has no personality and is not as good a singer as they make him out to be as last night proved.

Shanye will not win now as people are bored with him all ready.

Speaking for myself I was never that taken with Shayne. I changed my mind a bit last night because I thought his performance was very good, and made a change from the bland, formula stuff he's been doing so far.

That having been said, I am not sure that any of them apart from the Conways and JS gave of their best last night, but most of them are pretty good basically. I'm no longer sure about Nick tho, two bad ones in a row makes him very vulnerable in my eyes.

I'm still not that taken with Shayne though, too much of a formula there but bound to be popular with younger ones who haven't seen it all before (as I have)

But hate him? No-way! He's okay for a formula

I think it's normal for popular people to get slated quite viciously - I mean, look at all the no-counts on here who come out with stuff like "none of them can sing", "their all rubbish", etc., which is all patently rubbish and they could not do any better or they would be on the X-factor. It just makes some people feel important.

The reason I dont like him is because behind all of this 'Ooo anyone can go, it could even be me' I see, I think I''m going to win...and hes probably right! He's cocky, but not as cocky as lil Nicholas. Another reason is because I think this show is gearing towards him winning, hes also boring. An I thought I was watchin Stars In their Eyes on Saturday night!

I've disliked him since the beginning. There's nothing original about him AT ALL! When he did Cry Me A River it was mostly backing vocals and when he did the high noted they were mostly off key!

I don't hate him I just don't rate him as a performer. He's so-so to competent is about the most enthusiasm I can muster. To be fair he can sing unlike Nicholas and Chico and I can't say I've noticed any tendency towards arrogance or prima donna-ism in him, actually maybe a touch of either would make him a bit more interesting.

A valid question to Acashoonhay's valid point as it seemed to be the case in FA at least that the only ones who didn't toe the party line were those who didn't need the money.

I don't hate Shayne and I wouldn't say he was crap either

But.........he isn't my cup of tea. I don't think he's an amazing talent, I think he's a boyband type of singer and lets face it, they are two a penny at the moment in the music business!

I just tend to favour more original or different acts and I just don't see anything original or special in Shayne.

I wasn't sure about him in the beginning but I don't like his smugness when Sharon makes her comments and feeds his ego. When he's getting good comments from any of the judges actually he looks to smug. I didn't like his "Cry me a River" either as it seemed to be a "Stars in your eyes" performance and not the performance of someone trying to make a song their own.
