Annoying International Calls

My parents are being plagued by silent international phone calls just now. Im assuming theyre some Indian call centre or something trying to flog them something they really dont need.

Theyre calling 5/6 times a day & even if they answer the phone theres noone there. BT have been totally unhelpful saying 'Theyll probably stop in about 4 weeks' Not a great deal of consolation to my mum & dad.

Does anyone know if its possible to block International calls. The usual Choose to Refuse & Call preference services dont seem to apply to International pests

Yes they are very irritating, but it's true that they go away after about 6 weeks. I haven't had one for a while now.

The trouble with blocking 'International' calls if you could, would be if people call you using low cost call providers like Call 18866, Call 1899 and Call 18185 as often customers CLID using these providers display as International due to the routing of the calls out of the UK and back in.

If I was to block International calls, then very few people would get through to me, as almost all of them use 18866 or 1899.
