He's not a balladeer though is he? I think he knows that too. 'Play That funky Music' was good, though I can sing that and make it sound good. I suppose what I'm trying to say is, Chico is never going to be a singer, but he can perform and with the right type of material he's entertaining.

I don't think he'll get very much further, but at the moment he's pulling in the viewers and that is what the show is ultimately all about . As much as the purists like to think it's all about a recording contract, that's just a miniscule part IMO. Making money on prime time tv is the name of the game, and Chico is making a big contribution to that.

Possibly the best quote of the day and agree totally.

IMO Chico is ridiculous-Shayne, well, his genre are ten a penny and he's lucky to be there-JS truly boring as was Maria [though perhaps did not deserve to go at this stage]-Nicholas couldn't carry a tune in a bucket-Brenda and Tony -neither were that good last night but they are good musicians - a quality sadly lacking in others.Isn't this what the X-Factor is supposed to be about-or is it just another version of Pop Idol

Best: Andy, Brenda, Maria, Journey South

Worst: Nicholas- by miles, Shayne, Chico (and i like him!), Conways.

The Conways timing was all over the place. Nicholas was out of tune for the ebtire song. Shayne was a poor copy of Timberlake, and i hate the falsetto. Chico is lucky to stay in, but bits of it weren't that bad- I thought it started well.

Oh Lor, I don't know .... I know I'm probably in the minority but there's something about Andy I can't quite take too - he just seems to be singing by numbers and every song to me sounds the same and quite boring - he's called Mogadon man in our house - every week I want him to put a bit more oomph into it. Sorry, like I say I know I'm in the minority!
Brenda too dosen't seem to be taken out of her (buzz phrase for this series!) comfort zone - the songs she has are all ones that she knows really well - I'd like to see her do something different.
Shayne and his 'dancing' - was it dancing or was it just walking?
When they asked how taught him how to do that, I just thought - his mum when he was about a year old probably.
I do generally like Journey South, but like the conversation I had with the O/H on Saturday, whether I like them because they are Journey South or because they are the genre I do tend to like singing songs I like I haven't quite managed to work out yet (if that makes sense).
Conway Sisters - an evil cross between the Nolans and B*witched-lite.
Nicholas - please stop with the yelps and woos (it didn't help that it was the clip they kept showing either).
Chico - not his finest hour I think is the kindest thing to say there.
Maria - bizzare song choice scuppered her - should have gone with your instincts, OK you'd have been classed as stroppy but at least you'd still be there!

Brenda = Best
Shayne = Worst (Mostly backing track, sung all the high notes off key)

I thought Brenda was the best on what was a weak show. Chico was dire and I thought Shayne was really poor too.

There's no doubt about it - Brenda is getting a lot of votes. Perhaps she will win. It's possible!!

I reckon she'll pick up a lot of Maria voters too...

Ditto to that, although I thought Brenda was one of the better ones as well.

The others were all OK but nothing special:
Maria - bad song choice.
Journey South - too rocky, they need to do harmonies.
Shayne - no need for all that running about. We've heard your falsetto now, you don't have to do it every week!
Chico - is Chico. Entertaining but not to be taken too seriously.

Overall not a great week. The song choices really make a difference, don't they?”

Chico......entertainig? O.M.G....more like cringeworthy, he irritates me, like nails screeching on a blackboard.
