Many thanks for sharing that. Was in work too early to see this. Sun have a "fix" story this morning but it seems to be a re-hash of what Maria said in yesterdays papers...

I think we can assume that Louis has had his knuckles rapped and will not necessarily support the Conway Sisters in future.

Yeah I noticed he had a busted bottom lip when I saw the Xtra Factor last night funny if Sharon belted him one..

Personally I can't really fathom why there is all this outrage but that's for another thread i suppose..

There is usually a clause in competitions that relatives and friends of employees can not enter. Why does this not apply to the XFactor competition.

Also, ok so Walshie knows them, known them for years. If he thinks they are so great then why has he not signed them himself years ago.

Thanks for the update about comments from Louis on GMTV, that does differ from press comments made yesterday saying he Did Not Know the Family well, but he went to one of the Conway Family Sisters Wedding??

If Louis is daft enough to keep standing by them just because of the Irish Angle then they may as well pack the show up now and send out the Celebrity Island Contestants and start early.

I don't think Louis is a bad guy.

Okay he has awful judgement, but at the end of the day he had to make a decision. I agree he probably did vote with his passport but as has been previously stated Sharon uses gender to determine who she puts through so I can't imagine Maria feels any worse than 4-Tune.

Excactly.... they are supposed to be impartial, and make decisions based on the talent, not relationships.... No other comp would allow this to happen. These clauses are used for a reason. Will probably be the case next year, tho, after this weekends debarcle....

And yeah, if Walshie knows them and loves them so much, he's had plenty time to sign them... why hasnt he...

Louis Wlash is a manager. He doesn't own a record company, and so doesn't have the power to sign acts, whereas Simon Cowell does.

In saying that though, I'm sure he could have put a good word in for them, like he did with Westlife.

I know that lots of you probably think that it's unlikely that Louis would know the Conways, but it isn't. Geographically, where they are from is very close, they're from Sligo, he's from Kiltimagh. It's not a densely populated area, and to my mind, it would be highly unlikely that people involved in music at any level locally would be totally unaware of each other. Also, since Louis has signed Westlife and they're from the same town, it's quite likely that one of the girls would have known someone connected with someone from Westlife through mutual friends, school, a band. It would have been extraordinary if they didn't meet.

That doesn't mean that they know each other well, but I do suspect that the 'Irish Angle' is being overplayed. Do none of you live in rural communities?

Fact is that the sisters have toured supporting Westlife, and sang at Shane's wedding, where they were photographed with a beaming Louis... There is no way anyone can deny their connections... hasnt he also been quoted saying he knows their father too?

Yes he knows their father. Their Dad paid for their album to be produced, so he obviously has connections to the music industry.
