TV producers have viewers in palm of hand
This is a TV show and a very good one at that. The only sad thing is kidding these acts that they may have a future in the music industry. However as a TV show, on Saturday, the producers will have been jumping with joy when Louis said "Maria". Shocking TV, people are angry, more viewers, more entertainment. Well done Louis.
Well done to the X Factor PR people as they have created something which has fooled people into thinking that it is anything other than great Saturday night entertainment. |

Completely agree with you. As someone who dislikes both the Conways and Maria and therefore has no particular personal interest in who went on Saturday - having Maria go made for far better, and more entertainng TV - which has lead to loads more debates/discussions on here, in the media and in offices and schools all around the country. It would have been just another week if the Conway Sisters had gone.
Its about TV at the end of the day - nothing more. |

I also agree (that ITV are the winners), but they could have had just as much drama if Simon had sent his own act home, and it now seems obvious that he would not have needed much persuasion.

I said the exact same thing on another thread.
I would go as far to say it's more then likely that the "poor" Maria has already been offered some kind of deal. Taking her out in such "controversial" circumstances has already guaranteed her brilliant publicity and some creditably saving her from the curse of actually winning the blessed competition. Now it wouldn't come as a terrible shock to find that Louis himself ends up snapping her up, now would it? |

Money, money, money
As well as producing good TV entertainment, what's just as if not more pertinent is that with Maria going, people are more likely to vote in future to save their favourite which means increased revenue from the voting! The production companies will be rubbing their hands with glee. Afterall, the money doesn't go to charity.
