Talking to Philip & Lorraine, both shocked that she has gone, she was one of Philips favourites.

Maria said that before she even sang Louis mouthed sorry to her, I read that this was printed in the papers but wasn't sure what to ake of it but she has confirmed it now.

Maria was chatting and said she loved the Conways and said they were great, Philip said no, they aren't General discussion on why Louis booted her, the connections with the Conways etc. clips shown and paper reports.

She is back on later to answer viewers questions. Just came back after a break and Philip & Lorraine telling us whats on, XF reject..said they can't believe they are saying that, Philip said Louis had phoned the XF lady who came with Maria to say he couldn't believe Maria was being so nice about him in her interview after what he did. Philip said LOUIS and screwed his face at the screen and stuck his fingers up! I wasn't watching properly, getting ready for work, but I think it was the two fingers.

Sharon Marshall also said that Shayne is singing a Take That song this week.

Well, you could see after Maria performed, she just looked totally deflated. She knew she was going.

Shayne must be singing 'A Million Love Songs' then. I actually think this is a great song for him. Simon will love it.

I really don't like him either, but I was wanting him to sing this last week. If he puts in a good performance, I will have no trouble admitting that he's impressed me, but so far, I haven't been. He just needs a good song!

I know it's Simon's show but can't Ofcom, PCC, etc intervene as the viewers are clearly being conned . We're sold the idea that the show is about talent which is CLEARLY not the case by Louis and Simon's own admission

And Sharon's...remember she justify holding on to a contestant because they're female.

How is it a con?

Any act is at risk when they hit the bottom two.

The public vote, if they don't vote enough for the act they like they are at risk if they are in the bottom two.

Neither Maria or the Conway Sisters appeal to my musical tastes but to say one or the other doesn't have talent is ridiculous.

Correct. Maria has just been told on This Morning that she only recieved 2% of the public vote. She wasnt very good on Saturday. She had the wrong song and she murdered it.

No we're not. We're being sold the idea that the show is about the X Factor that appeals to the Great British Public. That would be the same star quality that the likes of Bruce Forsyth, Anthea Turner and Dale Winton all have.

When were we ever promised that the X Factor team's version of talent would involve the strongest voice and the purest pitch? I'm seriously considering placing a bet on Chico. What are his odds right now?

Maria was NOT told she recieved 2% they do their own poll and were saying the % of their votes for the remaining contestants NOTHING about Maria.

IMHO the public are squabbling little children with personal grudges. Personally I like the elimination mode and the politics of the judges adds to the entertainment. This is all about entertainment and not about electing a government or choosing a Pope.

It's Car Crash TV!

Yet he(Chico) wasnt in the bottom two on Saturday. Stranger and stranger.

Is the demographic of GMTV that different to Saturday evenings?.

So pray tell me this- how can Simon turn around and say he wished he voted off the Conways since they have no chance of winning and Loius admitting he made a mistake . Sure, 2 acts are going to end up in the bottom BUT then the judges? get to choose based on TALENT- talent to win the X Factor (Simon's words! Simon, don't forget, is the brains behind the show). If you're saying the show is not about talent, then you're agreeing with me.
