EASTENDERS
Killing off Cindy Beale, in labour. Pathetic, what a waste of one of the show's greatest characters, she had so much possibility.

Killing off Den, AGAIN. Another ridiculous waste, and a cheap Brookside ripoff. Alright, maybe it enabled the character of Chrissie to be kicked up a notch into the realm of major league character and complimented her evolution but the rest was a huge waste of time.

All of EE from 2002-present day.

BROOKSIDE
The show ceasing to be a soap and trying to be a docu-drama, which meant horrendously drawn out storylines like Diane's IVF trauma and Jimmy's recovery from the void of mental illness. Far too realistic.

Who Killed Susannah? Another waste of a fine character and actress (every show needs a vixen) and it was pathetically written with the murderer being revealed 5 days after and guess what? He didnt even kill her! She slipped on her daughter's teddy bear! DOUBLY pathetic!

FAMILY AFFAIRS
The killing of the Harts. We had some fantastic characters like Annie who was at a point where she was on the verge of a meltdown after her father Jack murdered her mother and Holly, the bisexual daughter who was wonderfully charasmatic. The episode when they all died was classic and very well written and done, but it was a hard price to pay losing these richly defined characters, and it didnt serve the show in the long run. From the death of the Harts, FA stopped being the original, intimate soap it had been, the little engine that could, and tried to become an EE/Corrie knockoff, which proved to deservingly make it appear trite and contrived. No wonder its being cancelled.

Also, seperating the duo from hell, Pete and Claire Callan, they were the most devlisih duo in soap in their day!!!

CORONATION STREET
The soap relying on plot driven drama (Richard Hillman, Mad Maya) as opposed to character driven.
Most of the characters are brain dead, stupid louts, there's not one compelling type amongst the 40 plus cast. Where are the Elsies? The evil old bags like Ena who actually had a spark of mystery that made you go back for more? The glamourous trainwrecks like Bet Lynch?
Corrie needs a major repolish, its hilarious how it tries to be a sitcom, its about as funny and riveting as a wet weekend. Guh! Corrie has been on the fast road to crapdom since Bet got in that black cab in 1995. End of.

I agree about killing off cindy in EE, that was pathetic. I really liked that character it was such a waste killing her off in prison like that. Also killing off Paul in EE,, again what was the point? they could have left it to the imagination what happened to paul.

What about Killing Jamie off like that, he could of left by leaving Sonia
for another woman and I agree about Paul they could of left it to the imagination, I though it was a waste killing off Laura they could of brough her back to cause trouble for Ian
