Football fans in the BB house
Am I the only one who finds that the love of football and in particular of a certain North London team as expressed by Timmeh and Kate sticks in the craw somewhat? As I see it, both of them have decided to get into football in order to be more laddish and acceptable generally; Tim to be "one of the lads" at university and Katey to be one of the lads at the Liverpool Street Pitcher & Piano (lest we forget, she didn't know that Andy or Andrew Cole was a relatively well-known football player). Now there's nowt wrong with being a football bore, being one myself to the eternal chagrin of Mrs Gulag, but fake football bores get my goat. What's the bleeding point?
In any case, real gooners would have noted Michael Thomas's championship winning goal in 1989, or even Arsenal's more recent double sealed at ManU as possibly more satisfying. |

They are "designer fans" who see supporting a club as just another fashion accessory. Have they ever been to a game?
I'm surprised at TIm, I would have thought a high class gentleman such as himself would have followed the egg game. |

As a STH at the Arse i can vouch people like Tim and Katie have invaded the ground over the last ten years and turned it into the 'Highbury Library.'
They sit in silence, treat it like the F**kin opera,i wish they'd f**k off to Stamford Bridge. Loads of fans from the mid eighties who went every game when we won F**k all have to pay through the nose or watch the game in pubs. Tim has probably never heard of Mickey Thomas,he sang the Freddie song in the wrong tune. I don't like his fawning over Ian Wright either with no mention of Tony Adams. BASTARD!!!!! |

I get the image of Tim as the fan portrayed in the Fast Show in his arsenal top not understanding the rules opening his f***ing hamper! Another reason Tim is a total ******!
real football died with the all seater stadium anyway.. |

Yeah, the blokes don't seem all that into it this year.
Tim is of course the kind of 'nouveau' fan who has pushed the prices up to crippling levels. Spencer and Sandy never seemed all that interested, and I'd couldn't really imagine Alex being a fan. Lee kept banging on about the World Cup but I never heard who he followed. Leicester City? Jonny hasn't mentioned who he supports and in the NE thats probably wise, as doing so would halve his NE support in one fell swoop. PJ seems the only genuine football fan. |

Alex and Jonny might have kept their mouths shut as the other HM's would take the p*** out of them for supporting real teams, Cambridge and Hartlepool or Darlington.

In any case, our recent lack of silverware means toss-pots like him steer well clear, prefering to go glory-chasing at the other other end of the Seven Sisters Road or over in west London. |

Lee 'supports' Newcastle ????
Obviously he only got into football during the Keegan era then, when they were fairly successful & exciting to watch. I can't stand these 'glory hunters' who jump on the bandwagon when a team is doing well. It's obvious that Tim falls into this category, possibly Kate too. Have they even been to a match ? I've supported Darlington all my life, so I have a lot of respect for anyone who sticks with an 'unfashionable' team, especially if other local sides are doing so much better. It's easy to 'support' a Premiership side, but shows a lot more strength of character to stick with a club who are having a bad time. Good on ya, PJ and Spencer ! |
