Anyone else on Tiscali Smart Talk
Im on the Tiscali Smark Talk Free Weekend Extra package and im still using there old switching box that they stoped giving out to new customers over a year ago. What do you think of there service. I think is a 98% good service but a very odd once in a while there billing is not always good and in the just over under 2 years I been with there phone service they have made a mistake with my billing twice and its tane at lest two calls to get it sorted. Also emailing them only works 95% of the time I have found out. Im also still on an old Tiscali dial up package but really thinking of moving o BTYahoo Broadband early next year but will have to see if could still use Tiscali Smart Talk as I like the free weekensd calls. I dont make many calls during the week just the odd now and again. Its manly the internet I used during week.

131 and 132
Do you use the 131 and 132 access codes from a BT line to use Tiscali smart talk? Previous NTL Npower customers had to use these codes, Tiscali took over the operations of NTL Npower communications.
But I heard that Tiscali's internet service is really bad! Ever considered moving to NTL,Telewest or Wight Cable or even Bulldog? |

There dial up intrtnet service is good 99% of thre time. Its there Broadband service some say to stay away from. Yes I used to be an NTL Npower customer. Then Tiscali tane over. I just a dial box to go though there Smart Talk service. They dont use dail boxes for new customers anymore. Im thinking of moving from my Tiscali dial up package to BTYahoo broadband early next year. Im ment to be getting my new PC in the next 3 weeks.

TalkTalk offer free weekend calls for no month charge (ensure you tell them you don't want them to take over line rental).
Just Dial Saver and also Planet-Talk offer free evening AND weekend calls for no monthly charge. |

Telewest
Telewest offer free weekend calls with no time limit to local and national numbers.
This costs £10 per month line rental. Plus: 50p per month for Talk weekends package. Same as BT line rental! Whats more is mobile calls from just 7p per minute with Talk Mobile. You can the supreme TV pack for an extra £15.50 per month and 2MB Broadband for just £14.99 per month. Call Telewest on 0800-073-0551 or visit www.telewest.co.uk to take advantage of the £10 online ordering discount. What would happen if you use the dialler box on a Telewest line? I dialled 132 and it won't work, does Tiscali not use any other access codes and numbers? |

But you have to pay TW for the Talk Mobile option and then they are dearer than 18185.
With 18185 you don't pay them a monthly fee, you just pay for the calls you pass through them. 5p/min weekdays and 2p/min weekends for calls to UK mobiles. Telewest unlike BT & Kingston Communications (customers living in Hull) do not have to allow access to other carriers, and certainly don't allow access to short code indirect carriers, some carriers get around this by using 0800 or 0808 access numbers, however higher costs are involved so you may not always get the same rates as you would from using their service via a BT line. |

Telewest
Well Telewest and Cable and wireless were considering allowing access to shortcodes ect....
But this may take a while to set up as they are still in the process of making an agreement with 118 24 7. Most CPS providers say you need a BT line and does not involve Kingston, I think that BT should take over the operations of Kingston Comms. Telewest already allows access to AOL dial up via shortcode 120. |

They make it very difficult for their customers who attempt to use other providers for their calls/internet access etc. It seems they want everyone in their area to change to Karoo for the internet, KiT for their TV and use them for their calls too. Not much choice there then - looks like the old times when BT had the monopoly. |
