But the question is, why is there no burglar alarm at the Vic?

The amount of people who drop by and have a drink in the middle of the night upon returning to the square - Well, Den and Grant but you get my meaning.

The pub I lived in had an alarm, as did every pub my dear father worked in and he's managed a few pubs over the years. They really should have one fitted, especially being in London. I hear that place isn't safe.

My fathers best mate, has a pub called The Vic, not the queen victoria. honestly. What also makes me laugh is how the front doors of the vic are locked with just that small bolt. SO silly!

I know. Perhaps those Mitchells should really look towards their security. I could just imagine Billy asking Peggy about the security of the Vic:

Billy: "Hey Peggy, I think you should review the security at the Vic"
Peggy: "Don't be so stupid Billy! Us Mitchell's rely on brute force; we don't need bolts, chains and alarms to have security. My Phil is the only security this pub needs"
Billy: "But Peggy, I rea.."
Peggy: "Call yourself a Mitchell?! I've had enough of this! Get out of my pub, go on, get out!"

I would love to be able to live in Albert Square - No CCTV in the shops. Stacey nicks everything off a stall without getting caugt (That is poissible however) No one pays for Eletirc or gas either... Chrissie used to give free drinks to everyone.

Of course the problem with living in Albert Square is there is a higher chance of you, a relative or a friend dying around Christmas time.

There is an alarm in the vic, if you remember years back Robbie pursuaded Jamie to nick booze, but they were caught because of the Alarm.

Thats right! For their party. They had the code and disarmed it. Made alot of noise, Frank and Peggy came down, and reset the alarm, taking the key. They spent the night hiding in the toilets! lol Oh the days!

To the post above. You would think by now, especially around Christmas, the residents of Walford would start taking their vacations, to escape the Christmas time death curse! - Steph

I really dont think there is a fire! The web cams show no evidence of this - even if they were frozen the vic wouldnt get painted again that quickly.

You don't think that this is all just a play on words. When they say there is a fire at the Queen Vic, maybe they just realise that the fireplace in the upstairs of the pub is a priceless antique.

Maybe they could use this to get David Dickinson on the show to do a Valuation and then Sharon and Dennis go on Bargain Hunt. He falls for Mr. Dickinson and they live happily ever after until Steve Owen clobbers him over the head with an antique ashtray.

That neatly links the fire and Dennis leaving. Stacey is at the funeral because David Dickinson is there (off-camera) and his tan is darker than hers. Explains why she looks sad.
