Really? perhaps you should report uncle Fester too then for his comments as he started it. even though you have told him to edit his post to get at me.

I think you'll find, moneymoney, if you cast your mind back, that you started it (post # 2 in this thread) - unclefester did not even enter the fray until post 19.

Why have you reported Money Money? Uncle Fester brought EE in to it so he is the one who should be reporting.

I was about to say that my self but when ever we start up a thread about Corrie some one always comes along from EE to try and put it down and I get angry about it,try and do it about EE and you are soon in trouble

I'm an EE fan, but am looking forward to this storyline.
I usually find Corrie offer good drama with this sort of thing, and I usually learn a little too.

Soaps are here to entertain us.
Not to start a riot

Ditto

It's threads like this, which descend into a 'my soap is better than your soap' debacle that make me realise why I don't post that much.

For what it's worth, despite my personal preference for Eastenders and Emmerdale (that's all it is - all soaps can and do go through highs and lows), I cannot see this storyline being anything other than brilliant. It's clearly been well researched as the pointers have been in place for a while now. Nice to see they are using a character at the bosom of a very central family in the soap, and a long running one at that.

Nicely said. Back on topic, please.

Although I'm not sure whether you can actually 'die' from Alzheimer's.
(forgive me if I'm wrong)

No, you can't, but having alzheimers doesn't mean you can't die of something else, which is I assume is what will happen (happened to my friend's mother earlier this year). I think they will want Mike to go out with a bang not a whimper so he will die rather than leave to crumble away offscreen.

OK - thanks for the information, I wasn't too sure.

I suppose if you have alzheimers you maybe don't look after yourself properly : eating, keeping the house warm, stuff like that, which if you are also elderly takes a toll on your general health.

That's true Vonnee and I'm sure that happens with some cases, but that wasn't the case with my friend's mum, who was looked after by a team of carers as well as her daughter. She died of a stroke - no reason you can't have a heart attack/stroke just because you've got alzheimers.

Oh finally some sense!! I'm really looking forward to this storyline... I think it'll be treated with the dignity it deserves, considering the lead actor is pretty much a part of the scenery... they wouldn't let this be his swansong, and ruin it by not completely researching the story through.

Oh that is really sad, A strong character like Mike being brought down like this is horrible. I hope this is done very slowly - over years in fact. I really don't want him to die anytime soon, plus it would be unrealistic if he did.

I think this'll be really good, i doubt Corrie'll make it into a comedy as it's the kind of subject that needs to be respected. Poor Mike, i think this'll make me sad
