Setting the record straight...
mromega

In this weeks Heat, Davina has set the record straight about a number of points that have been raised during the course of the series.

Here are a couple of things cleared up which have appeared in many threads on the forum...

1) The BB team weren't panic when both Sandy & Sunita left.

2) The bars were never going to be up for the duration of the series. Their purpose was to stop the house turning into a 24/7 18-30 type environment and instead show the true personalities of the housemates.

3) The voting is NEVER fixed. The Electoral Reform Society, the same people who count General Election votes look after the BB voting. If a large number of calls comes from one phone number, they check it out to make sure it is a BB fan and not a betting syndicate.

4) BB does not selectively edit anybody.

5) Jade & PJ didn't have intercourse - and while we're on the subject, Sophie didn't give Lee a blow job either. [comments - They are specifically saying it wasn't intercourse, so obviously it was something else]

6) Mr Miagi always goes into the house at the halfway point.

Yeah right - Davina is just C4's monkey, and according to that NONE of the rumours are true??

I doubt it.

Point 4 is the only one I would question. I'm pretty sure that the show is edited, perhaps not to paint people into specific roles but rather to produce more 'salacious' television. That was certainly the case last night when they left it with Kate & Alex playing 'Follow the Van'

When I read this article in Heat my only thought was, "well yeah, she's got to say that hasn't she?"

Caz (past knowing what to believe).

Any television show has to be seen in terms of pure entertainment value.

This is a television show and we have to accept that the producers are going to edit the highlights in such a way as to ensure ratings are boosted. I think the main problem emerges when people forget that the show isn't being "performed" by trained actors and in fact it is the lives of 14 people that are being broadcast live on TV. I believe that the HM's are aware of this when they enter but it still does not account for the violent backlashing and personal attacks on people such as Jade.

Perhaps C4 have realised that things are out of control hence the more favourable editing in Jade's case the past week although I think the damage has already been done.

There is always the danger of the media taking things one step too far and this particular series has seen an unprecedented amount of hate journalism perhaps due the lack of a likeable "Helen-type" character in house - first it was Jade then Adele and now "racist Tim".

Is this all necesary? After all we reiterate over and over how much we hate the HM's yet we watch constantly and choose to spend our free time on forums such as this one???

Point 2 - the bars were put up to cause tension and resentment. The psychologists said as much. Point 5 - PJ and Jade didn't have sex, and Sophie didn't give Lee a BJ? Seems Davina at least thinks Jade gve PJ a BJ

”

So how do they do that then?

"Hello, we're from the Electoral Reform Society. Are you a betting syndicate?"

"Oh no. Not me. I'm just a sad obsessive making hundreds of calls because I have more money than sense"

"Thats OK then. On behalf of Endemol and Channel 4 can I thank you for your lucrative enthusiasm. Keep up the good work."

Sadly, Davina is just an employee and I don't suppose she's doing too badly out of it either. Whatever your employment you do as your employer bids (obviously within reason) if you wish to remain employed. Bad-mouthing your employer whether in reality or just perceived, however justifiably, tends to lead to a "pick a card" option. The deck consisting solely of a P45.
Sadly no-one is indispensable, not even Davina. There is almost certainly a stack of B, C or D list celebrities who'd jump at the opportunity to get their less talented noses in the BB trough.

I am wondering whether mromega was not more interested in the fact that all the points Davina chose to dispute were ones which had appeared on the DS BB3 forum.

Clearly they (C4/BB3 producers/Davina/Heat mag) read these threads.

So the topics being discussed here are not simply circulated within our little on-line community but instead become the topics discussed at C4/BB3/Heat production meetings.

However I for one find it amusing that 'our' words find their way into the mass media.

There was one other rumour cleared up in the article

> Jades Mum in the press

All the others were the ones I put at the start and are indeed the same things that have appeared in the forums.
