Kate Thornton

Ive always liked Kate Thornton. Ive always found her fair and unbiased. But her reaction on Saturday to the news was unfair. Putting Louis on the spot going "Can you explain your decision" was wrong. She didnt do it to Sharon when she saved Chenai.
Anyone agree?

It was because there was such an uproar on Saturday from the audience, that I think she felt she had to ask Louis why he had came to that decision.

Absolutely, I know she's only human and we all make mistakes, overreact etc but she needs to remember that she is standing between two acts and her reaction may have soothed one girl but stung the other 4 standing next to her. Even Louis looked surprised she asked him to explain, you are right she has never asked others to explain their reasoning.

she is only hosting the show as she went out with simon before.
Conway sisters have previously had a number one hit in ireland
Conway sisters have sung a song (for lousid and simon)by westlife days before it was released
Conway sisters have been a supporting band for westlife on tour.
every week is controversial
Chico is going to release to a song and he is going to sing it this saturday !!
The whole show is a joke

Thornton has begun to grind, she just wants to be popular and has always had a bad habit of sucking up to the crowd.

Even though she's not my favourite by any means she is part of the X-Factor machine. I prefer Thornton to the dreadful Davina McWotsit.

She had to ask him that because the crowd went into overdrive shotting fix.

She obviously suffers from the same problem as Davina, having a crowd booing and baying for blood is NOT a good reason to side with them if it means hanging another contestant (or in this case 4 piece) out to dry. She should try as far as possible to be non-judgemental and as supportive as possible to ALL contestants.

Exactly. On the Xtra Factor Ben Shephard was very fair and said it wasnt the girls fault. And that Sharon had saved and all that.
I think presenters are more respected if they know their own minds.
And so what if the crowd were booing. Often they are told to just to make the show more dramatatic.

exactly! When Chenai was saved over 4 tune there was no booing for sharon and chenai and there wasnt 93% in a phone vote saying she made th e WRONG decision

Another poster who says they were in the studio has already mentioned that 4Tune's family and friends behaved a lot more civilised than Maria's family who were the ones reportedly making all the noise and shouting all the abuse on Saturday.

Let's face it, why would anyone else in the crowd care that much one way or another? It wasn't one of theirs that had gone out and if they genuinely thought the best person had gone they would have been glad that that person was now out of the way of their friend or relative's road to victory.

Also, though I don't remember the "killer question" that night being whether Sharon had made the right decision in keeping Chenai, the 93% for Maria only means her fans are an extremely vocal minority. I agreed with the decision, therefore didn't have an axe to grind and therefore didn't text into the poll. I'd already given the producers some of my money that evening in votes so I wasn't about to give them more by texting into a poll I didn't really care about.

If she was that popular why didn't she poll such a high percentage in the actual vote?
