Eastenders Olympic dream

With the oylmpics coming to the eastend of London is 2012 it is going to be difficult for EE not to tackle this and the huge impact it will have on everyone. How should EE show the realities of London life? Should they like most Londoners have concerns about terror attacks? Should EE deal with 'real' issues or do we want our soaps to give us a break from our reality and let us submerge ourselves in the wonderland of Soap?

Yeah, but being so close as they are meant to be to the Staging Ground, maybe a character could get work on the project - on the bulding site maybe, Or maybe the arches could get a contract to service all of the company cars.

Maybe some of the youngsters on the square can start doing more sport in the hope of competing in the olympics.

Or in true EE style, maybe someone can sleep rough on the ground and get killed by a runaway digger....

I think Eastenders will do something, like Corrie did with the Commonwealth games.

it may be 6 years away, but this event is having an impact on people's day to day lives now.

7,000 compulsory purchase orders were being issued today to people and businesses in the area who are in dispute with the development organisation.

maybe references to things in everyday life could be brought up (and before anyone jumps in and says that they film 6 weeks ahead, I don't necessarily mean specific references to actual events)
