Do you multiple vote!?

Do you do this some weeks more than others, if so why?!

Who do you vote for!?

Do you vote for more than one person?!

Just a simple thread, not really for arguments/ discussion but I find it could possible help with some of the other threads to work out HOW people vote!!

Yes, I vote multiple times.

Yes, some weeks I vote less than others. It depends if I think my favourite act is in danger. I voted 12 times on Saturday

I vote for Journey South.

No, I don't vote for more than one person. I've only done it once, where I threw in a vote for The Conways, because I felt sorry for them. That was the week they did Total Eclipse Of The Heart, because I thought it was brilliant. But, I'm not doing it again, because they really should be gone now.

In the past i've multiple voted loads of times if i had particular favourite. My phone bill for Sam Nixon on PI, for example had to be calculated by NASA . Also went a little mad voting for Steve last year.

This year thankfully has been a lot better because i couldnt really be bothered to pick up the phone. I've voted a couple of times for Brenda and Maria but thats about it.

I'll keep on watching but i wont vote anymore because to be honest, i'm really not that excited with this years bunch.

Roll on American Idol i say!

I've voted at one stage or another for every act (yes, even Chico!) except Addictiv Ladies, Maria and Shayne.

The only acts I've voted for every week have been Nicholas and JS. This week and last week I also voted for the CS.

I don't multiple vote except in finals. I voted twice for Steve in the final last year (and twice for Alistair Griffin in the final of FA) if twice equals MULTIPLE voting

I do multiple vote sometimes but rarely. I'm more inclined to do so, if my favourite is in the final.

In the past I have voted for more than one act but giving my absolute favourite one more vote. I do that when I think that someone deserves to remain as close to the final if not the final, even though they are not my ultimate winner. They are usually my preferred runner-up.

I just vote twice for Chico. I would never vote for him more than twice, because if other people aren't going to vote then it is only fair that he doesn't stay in the competition.

I don't understand why people individually place a large number of votes on one person. It just gives a false perspective on their popularity which is all too soon found out when they have to sell cds.

If the remainder of viewers voting don't like them enough to give them a vote then the same is likely to be true when they become recording artists.

Over zealous multiple voting is doing the artist(s) no favour at all in the long run, it's just giving them misleading information regarding their perceived popularity.

Not to mention just lining the programme makers pockets with your hard earned money.

Good post, this is the reason i have started the thread, only i'm not very good at wording things!! I want to see how many people are in this competition purely because they are receiving far too many votes (altho there isnt a limit) off individual fans!!

Exactly, good post and I agree totally. I don't vote because I am really not that rich, I only watch it for entertainment and I am unlikely to buy any single or album released by any of the artists anyway, the only reality show winner I was truly impressed by week on week was Will Young because you could just tell he was a great singer and he broguth his own style, I just hoped he would survive the awful prewritten album and come out the other end with enough money and confidence to try and market his own work, look at him now!
None of this lot excite me in the way that he did, the young kids will do anything to get successful and haven't a clue what 'their sound' is, the older contestants are either novelty acts (Chico) or slightly old fashioned in their sound and everyone knows groups are out, Conways haven't got a sound yet and JS although talented just will not be successful in the charts.

I haven't voted at all yet. I won't vote until the final. Mostly because I watch the programme for entertainment, but also because it is a waste of money. There are too many variables (programme gimmicks) that make the exercise pretty pointless.

I may vote in the final if someone I really, really like makes it to that point. (IMO the only people in the X Factor this year with real talent are/were Maria, Brenda, Andy and Chenai).

I would only vote for one act, and I would not vote more than twice for one person.

I multiple vote for Journey South. I really like these guys and they seem to be fairly genuine people so I really hope they win and that winning works for them unlike it has for so many others.

Multiple voting could easily be reduced by caller id. Only 1 vote per phone would make thing fairer. Would reduce the profit being made though.

Yes I do multiple vote.
I do multiple vote more weeks than others. Why do I do this? I have several answers to this question (this also answers the who do I vote for question):
1. I didn't vote at all the first week because I was being stupidly complacent, in thinking my favourites wouldn't be in the Bottom Two for a few weeks since poor acts like Chico, Conway Sisters, Phillip would surely go first. I only voted for Nicholas once the second week, because I thought his performance of Let's Get It On was so fantastic, that I thought he deserved my vote.
2. My theory of poor artists being in the Bottom Two first was cruely flattened when Chenai (my then favourite to win) was in the Bottom Two in Week Two. I then was obviously shocked into voting for my favourites to win.
3. I only vote for my favourites, with the exception of Chenai, if they do a really good performance. My favourites are Andy and Nicholas and Brenda. Before Chenai left I didn't vote for Brenda because I already had three people to vote for, and it isn't me who pays the phone bill.
4. When Nicholas was in the Bottom Two in Week Four, it made me vote for him more times than usual the week after to give me peace of mind basically. I did not want to lose two favourites in a row after Chenai leaving.
This has been my pattern in voting so far:
Week One: No-one
Week Two: Nicholas once
Week Three: Chenai twice, Andy once, Nicholas once
Week Four: Chenai three times, Andy once
Week Five: Brenda twice, Andy twice, Nicholas four times.
I hope this makes sence...

yeah i do multiple votes but only on some weeks.
So far the only 2 acts i have voted for are Chenai and Journey South but i didnt vote this week( i was going to vote for nicholas but his performance was bad).
I try not to vote every week only one either some impresses me or when i really like someone but am worried they may be in the bottom 2.
So far i voted on week 3 and 4 and thats it but i probably will vote in the final if jurney south or Brenda get there

I don't vote on X Factor.

I voted every week for Will Young in Pop Idol 1 and I voted once a week for Mark in Pop Idol 2 and I think once for Suzanne as well.

But I believe it is fixed... so I don't waste my parents phone bill on calling it anymore. Besides, I don't really have a favourite of the current lot.

No way do I vote.

Said this several times already on threads. No way hosay, never vote on these things EVER. I am not wasting my money.

Complete con.

When will people learn the TV companies are not the slightest bit interested in your votes, they only want your money. If it was really your vote they were after then the phone lines would be free and they would set up free internet voting.

After all what is the point of this show ? Certainly not a career in the music business for the winner. If these contestants and viewers believe that then they will believe anything. Ok so Will Young is doing OK but he is about the only one who is out of the winners of these shows. To me the point of this show is nothing but a revenue earner.

I do not wish to offend anyone, ( but no doubt I will) I find it unbelievable that people waste their money in this way- Sorry folks just my opinion.
