I'm a Bb addict too....
....without E4 only watch C4 highlights.....love the interaction here....I HAVE to check out the daily goings-ons when I get back from work, and first thing in the morning.....the forums give a trueer picture especially when you read posts from all camps........and loads of the members are hilariously funny......apart from the scattering of pompous twits and fanatical stirrers...... .............I like to post 'cos I'm the type of person who can't keep their gob shut when they read something that annoys, or amuses or makes them think.... ...and I think the job that the DS:BB staff do is fantastic!!!

What's going on? I don't understand what this thread's about. Doesn't everybody live their lives in an insulated capsule strapped into a mechanism not unlike a dentist's chair facing two giant screens: one permanently tuned to the dual live feeds on E4 interactive and the other logged into this forum? One hand can move enough to change interactive feed on the remote that's superglued to the arm of the chair while the other has more movement over the keyboard that's built into the opposite arm. I am fed by a tube and drink cans of carbonated pop apparently delivered weekly by a man in a van who leaves it on my doorstep. The BB contestants are my only friends. You people are my only social peers. Help me. I fear, they may be coming for me...

Frankly if it weren't for DS coverage - thanks Beth, Jason etc - and this forum I'd have stopped watching after week 1. C4 coverage is hopeless

yeah boxer shorts are the way to go.... but we better be careful before the thread gets evicted...
! ![]() to return to the subject of the thread briefly, another main reason i'm here is that i'm meant to be writing a thesis and this is much more entertaining!! any encouraging motivational words much appreciated... i could do a Jade to my examiners and burst into tears, screech "you said i was minging" and strip in front of the window.. certainly would be different..!

My name is maggie. I'm a big brother addict.
What happens if DS closes (gasp) the BB forum in three weeks? Will we all have to deal with our withdrawal "cold turkey"? How am I supposed to get back to normal life? How am I supposed to survive without my daily BB fix? HELP. (whimpering in terror) |

Woo Hooooooo
From psychological Assesment to thongs and bums Now why did I come on here? ummmmm.... can't remember now have lost track??? My greatest fear is being in a supermarket and talking to someone and calling them a "Chipstick" or woe betide I suddenly think everything is "awesome" Think the only thing I can do is to stay in and watch BB on E4 and surf the forums

OK, I admit it - I only come on these forums for purely selfish reasons
Yes, it's true. I'm as bad and two-faced as Adele. To be honest as I don't have E4 and have to rely on the 30 minute C4 program and their cack website (which I haven't been able to get on my machine for the last 2 days) and here to get any info about what's happening. Why is it so important to me? Well, that's obvious! My secretary watches BB and being up to date on it (hence being able to gossip with her about it) means that I get provided cups of tea every 30 minutes without having to ask (and the occasional choccy biscuit). I have absolutely no interest in it myself it's all for the refreshments - honest!

What a great thread!!
I think I'm still half way "in the closet" over my BB3 addiction. I don't have E4 so rely on DS for my updates & daily gossip. Tend not to post much unless something really catches my attention (which this thread definitely did). I'm quite sure that I'm going to get sacked at some point for sneaking looks at the forum during working hours..............on the other hand, my boss came in & caught me reading one of the threads this morning and ended up in my room for 20 minutes reading with me & discussing last nights antics Keep up the good work folks. Don't know what I'd do without you!!!

My name is bb3man and I used to be a big brother addict.
Ok it's not really bb3man, I prefer to remain anonymous. Around week 3 or so I watched about 12 hours a night, staying up to 5am. I do think it is a form of addiction. You know you're addicted when you wake up and switch on the TV to watch someone else sleep you continue to watch when the sound is cut and the chicken cam is on for half an hour you miss the housemates when the series is over the only reason you know what the weather is like is from the BB garden The list goes on. But this story has a happy ending. I cut down to 4 hours a night, then 2. Eventually I unplugged my TV and sold it. Now my only link to BB is through these pages which I check to keep informed about ongoing events. Keep up the good work everyone! |

*fan comes stumbling into the thread late mumbling about slow traffic and things then looking nervous in case people realise the real reason is being stuck in front of the TV*
Er...my name is er... Fan-at-ic and I'm a Big Brother addict.... The reason I watch (and I watch, and watch and watch when not at work, or otherwise getting on with real life) changes during each series. At the start I find trying to weigh up the housemates and understand their motives for going on the show, but also to examine my own reactions to the housemates and thus question my own prejudices. Later in the series, seeing how the allegencies and psychology in the house develops gives an insight into the human condition which would be hard to get so clearly if not in microcosm. It also becomes interesting to talk to others about their perceptions, and examining the differences from my own. This stage also becomes an interesting study of the media with how the events are portrayed in the editted version and how people who only see that see things differently...also, who the tabloids etc pick things up for their own stories and motives. Later in the series, its interesting to see how my own feelings to housemates have changed and to try and understand why...but also, it becomes a sport to cheer on your favourite and hope they'll win. ...and that's the stage I'm at now...I know from previous adictions to BB that the last stage will become an intense hope for one or two housemates to win and one or two get definately not...then it'll all be over and I'll have the post result examination of why the hell everyone else didn't want the same person to win that I did (Anna, Elizabeth/Dean)...and then the cycle starts again with speculation of next years show....

My name is Chrissie - I am a Big brother addict and I am old enough to know better.
I am ashamed I dont do any housework anymore - I go to work [shifts] - there I seek out people wo know what 'Who goooes ' really means. I have to visit my daughter on the weekend - she wont understand my addiction - I will have to pretend to feel ill when she takes the rest of the family to see her horses - so I can desperately see if I can work out how to get E4 on her cable TV. {I usually watch on the internet} I usually go on Friday night for the weekend but I am going on Saturday for obvious reasons. My husband is a BB widower. HELP ME - I am afraid for my future. How will I cope when it ends? Chrissie Used to be a good wife and mother |
