You're welcome have enjoyed your posts very much!

As B did not attend the group training that we saw (although I did see them practising it on Friday's ITT) I thought Karen would be dancing with Brendan. When I saw him come out I was thrilled but that soon turned to when they marched to the front. Hmmmm...is this a good idea if you've missed the practice?

But 'me of little faith' - he knew the routine, did a fabulous spot with Karen right on cue, clapped and walked... at the same time ...totally got into la rueda and looked to be having a ball!

Despite the comments I thought James got right into the spirit by waving Will off when it was time for his spot with Camilla and shaking his wrist a la 'hot hot hot' when they rejoined the line.

Even though Colin is not one of my faves I liked his spot...and Patsy...and Darren...well hey I thought everyone sizzled and I thought there was an edge to it which came from knowing they could just have fun and were not being judged. Wish it could be like that all the time

Well done all the celebs I say.
The electrocuted look is called Templeke and is bedded in Cuban salsa. It is VERY difficult to do and involves a lot of body isolation. Imagine rubbing your stomach and tapping your head. Now imagine you have 5 stomachs and 7 heads all over your body. THAT is Templeke. To have that level of control of ones body is very impressive.

The actual salsa everyone did in the performance was quite basic Cuban. I have been doing Cuban Salsa for 4 years as well as Cross Body lead (which ANton did with Patsy very briefly).

The judges were correct in their assessments. Darren and Colin were very good. The rest were OK. For some reason, the woodeness of a person dance style seems to be amplified when doing salsa before it really clicks. After such a short time all the Celebs could ask for was to look smooth doing their mambos. And Darren was very smooth - the salsa ladies I know were very impressed with his silky hips. Colin was also excellent but after the Samba was there any doubt?

I dare them to do proper Cuban rumba which is sexier and dirty and cheekier than latin Rumba. It is rarely done outside Cuba and outside of Cuban dancers who perform specially over here.

But yes, Salsa can look a bit strange at times I admit! It can also look and feel incredibly sexy and very spontaneous and I love it. And lets not even get into Bachata. Boy...he he.

I just watched the clip of the Salsa training, and it was fun!

I especially love the part when dear Karen cries. Lol! Poor thing, I feel like giving her a big hug.
