Journey South Chico Nicholas Brenda Shayne Andy Conways The only variation I can see is that the Conway and Journey South will switch. |

Realistically it'll probably be Chico this week, if it's out of Sharon's group anyway... Although we could all be shocked and maybe it won't follow a pattern!

I'm more interested in th e singing pattern its gone in thus far.. given the problems with singing in the first 4 slots of the show.... Simon had Addictive Ladies in the first slot week 1 and hasnt had to be first since. This is week 6 so Journey South are long overdue the start! The cynical part of me is Simon wont take that risk

Lets be right, they know who is going to win now, every possible bottom two has been worked out at SyCo

I don't see the Conway Sisters in the bottom two this week. By Saturday the same people who have been pillorying them all week will have had one of those sudden perverse and inexplicable changes of heart they often do and suddenly feel sorry for them so they will get a large 'sympathy' vote. Sharon may suffer from the 'backlash' of this and find two of hers in the bottom two.
I fear for Chico and Brenda. |

I'm very worried for Journey South this week.
Although, I think they'd be safe against Chico, Nicholas, The Conways, and possibly, Brenda. |

I fear for Chico and Brenda. I also fear for Brenda. I will explain why. In this competition there are three variables that always have an effect on the votes: 1) Order of appearance - if your in the first four it's brown trouser time. If your not, you can sing like a strangled cat and it doesn't matter, you safe. 2) Sex - (this may lose me a few friends) the majority of voters are ladies of all ages, who typically vote for their favourite male act. This goes for all reality/talent type shows. To win one of these things if your a woman you have to be that little bit different/special and get the ladies voting for you. You have to be consistanly better. No bad performances are allowed. I can almost feel the raised eyebrows as some folks read this, but I am just calling it as I see it. 3) Feedback - Most unfairly of all, the judges influence the voting, positively or negatively. This is bad because right now, the judges are so up their own backsides and petty with each other, there feedback is more about each other than the search to find the act with the x-factor. I wish it were not so, but it is. As you can see, my list of three key variables does not include talent. You can have talent and get chucked out (Maria, see the three points above) or you can have less talent and live to fight another day..... So where am I going with this.... My point is, in agreement with XFG, I fear for Brenda. I think she will be in the first four this week. She is female. All of her performances so far suggest the judges will be supportive, but they are a pretty random bunch and if she puts in a performance which is only 99% as good as previously, they may say they preferred her previous performances and she could be in the bottom two, perfoming against Chico or Nicholas. And based on Louis department from reality last week, plus the judges lack of synergy, anything could happen! |

Excellent points Sophie'sDad and yes Louis and Simon are very calculating with what they say and how they say it.
This week was the first time Brenda had sung after Maria .. and she is usually in the first 4 to sing. Coupled with that have been the predictable song choices she has been given which I find both irksome and puzzling. After all she got through bootcamp by singing an Elton John song. The lack of variety they give her to sing isnt helping either. It seems they have the time to pen and record an original song for Chico but less time spent on the others in the group. In a Simon Cowell analogy .. the xfactor is like awaiting a gourmet dinner and being given a packet of instant custard mix. It promises rewards for the talented but in reality it is just a ££ making exercise for the empire that is SC and the winner is the one who can make and sell the blandest biggest turn around of cover songs. Brenda deserves better and I hope she gets a better deal. |

I do not mean to sound anti-Conways, I just feel their time should be up and there are better acts that should stay.
