I didn't see the comment, but I'm guessing allegations were made against a HM's family or forum member? DS are just covering their asses, and rightly so. If someone got hold of this and decided to take legal action, this site would very (and I mean very!) quickly get it's plug pulled. There are UK legal precedents for this so these days even allegations of libel are enough to make a web host take quick, severe action. In the end, the poster won't be in the crap, DS (and by extension, everyone who uses the service) will. If a moderator even believes a post may be libellous, they're totally correct in deleting it. The free speech argument is tosh, this is a privately owned forum.

DS would have to face the consequences of any legal action (no matter now remote that possibility) arising from stuff posted onto their forum. Hence, it's their call. Your definition of a forum doesn't come into it, face to face it'd be your lookout. Hence your call.

Well like I say, I didn't see the comment so can't really decide one way or the other whether it was possibly libelous or not. I'm not exactly qualified on that from and I'm guessing you're not either. Perhaps we could ask PJ when he's evicted this week for a second opinion.
The fact remains, DS have to ultimately take the crap for comments on this site. If they're given due warning (i.e. a complain, comment, whatever) that something posted is possibly iffy. If you were in their position I'm betting you'd have done the same. If not, set up a forum yourself and I'll pop over with a few choice (and horribly libelous) comments about Jade and we'll take it from there.

We'll agree to disagree Piggy. Appreciate what you are saying and although I can see why they would take a comment off, I do think it takes alot away from a debate. My opinion is nothing wrong was said and I think the real debate is should DS shy away from all taboo topics or not.

Gosh, I just caught up with this thread, and people took things way out of proportion!!! I made NO ALLEGATION of any kind, I didn't state any fact, I just said what I THOUGHT what MIGHT be the cause of one of the HM's problem. It was MY opinion about it.
Ironically I saw members here stating categorically that PJ is a "women beater", that Tim is Racist, that Jonny is a Mysogynist, that Jade has mental problem, they were said as FACT, not even with the hint of propability, yet DS saw nothing wrong about members airing their views about it. It was their views and opinions, just as this is MY opinion.

but Adele did NOT look gutted - she SAID she was gutted and didn't particularly look to me like she meant it. I haven't found Adele any more real on BBLB than she was in the house - its almost as if she is doing and saying the things that she thinks she is expected to.
The difference between Sophie on BBLB - calm relaxed and comfortable and Adele on BBLB - awkward, unnatrual and looking like she thinks she might get caught out all the time - is very noticable.
I can't quite see Adele being offered a presenters Job (not that I think she is looking for one).

Observer - just wanted to say, I agreed with you, but also had my post deleted. It seems its fine for speculation on what may have taken place in Jade's life to make her the way she is, and to call tim racist, and PJ a woman beater. But mention s***** a****, and everyone is up in arms. Which is the reason why it continues to be a taboo subject.
