I think it's such a shame for the winner.

That's just ridiculous releasing a single on the Wednesday. Could they be anymore desperate.

It actually makes me think that I don't want Journey South to win anymore. I'd rather they came second or third, and avoid the circus that will follow.

I see it as all part of the 'Pantomime Package'. I doubt the winner will even make number one with his/her/their single......before obscurity beckons.

How pathetic is this? Anyone already saying they will buy this single is just a sad sheep who does what the media tells them to do. If the people that let themselves be force fed on a diet of this crap actually realised they were able to think for themselves the charts might actually mean something.

They will not make No1 as Kylie is going for the sympathy vote by releasing a downloadable version of that ghastly version of her Somewhere Over The Rainbow.....oh dear..............

I can't see this beating Westlife or Robbie to the top spot. All the ones who are left are average at best.

While the programe gets huge viewing figures (though its now being beaten by Come Dancing) this does not translate to sales (see last years winner for proof)

I reckon the same people who bought the Cheeky Girls' 'Cheeky Song' would buy it! If Chico were to win, they could get him to collaborate with the girls on a newer version ('The Cheeky Chico Christmas Song') with sleigh bells, choirs and all! God - can you imagine the video?!

You're right about the "average" bit. I do like Brenda best personally, but I can't honestly say I'd buy (or even cheap download) an album by her. I've listened to Rowetta's album, and it's pleasant but uninspiring. It's a bit like evolution, the real, serious talent, combined with ambition, will rise to the top on its own. If you have to enter a talent show to get yourself recognised, you're probably not top talent anyway.

I'd like to see Maria and the Conways get together and do 'Fairytale of New York.' I would buy that.

I still don't understand why these are saying the final is the 17th, unless 2 go in one week....

Countdown from now, with there being 7 left....

Saturday 19th Nov - 7 to 6
Saturday 26th Nov - 6 to 5
Saturday 3rd Dec - 5 to 4
Saturday 10th Dec - 4 to 3
Saturday 17th Dec - 3 to 2
Saturday 24th Dec - 2 to 1 - Winner!

If this has been discussed elsewhere i have missed it, but i am confused how they will even know who the winner is in time to get a Xmas single out.

Its obvious isn't it?

3 acts in the final - whats the betting its one act per judge? guarantees maximum viewers and votes..

The final has been confirmed that it will go out on 17th December, most likely with 3 finalists to pad out the show, as 2 finalists for 1 long show does get a bit tiring after a while. The winner's single will then be released on Wednesday 21st December. The odds are changing frequently between Westlife and The X Factor Winner, and on Monday, The X Factor winner was favourite to go to Number 1 but it changed and now Westlife are once again favourites with the winner second.
