Feel sorry for her, but, I guess that's the point of the story. Hope she does well with her career, but, please no more heart rending stories from any of them, please. We've had Shayne, Chico and now Maria. Andy's had his fair share as well. Why do they all want the sympthy vote.? Sing well, and they will win without all the tears.!!!!!

My thoughts exactly. Maria needs to go careful, at the moment the vast majority of the GBP is on her side, if she starts milking her fame it will be very short lived. She's been very dignified up until now, I hope she doesn't spoil it.

Xactly my sentiments. People do feel sorry for her and of corse she deserves to be upset and have a moan but comon there comes a time when you need to either put up and shut up. She is talented, everyone knows that, it was a c**k up on the part of Wally Walsh but comon girl, for your own sake, build a bridge and get the hell over it!

A slight exaggeration as the vast majority of the GBP don't watch the show.

It wasn't just a cockup on the part of Lousi walsh, she clearly didn't get many votes either!!!

the girl isn't liked, if she was she wouldn't be bottom 2!!

Yea but as was said on another thread, if you think that your act is more or less safe then you won't vote for them whereas if people think their fav act is going to get the boot they keep voting for them..... A bit backwards but that seems to be the way of it!

It's quite possible that people in the bottom 2 still get 1000s of votes.

According to some threads she only got 2% of the vote, so she isn't that popular.

Her fans can make up all the 'excuses' they like about people thinking she was 'safe' etc so didnt vote but if they took their blinkers of for a minute, they would realise that she did a terrible preformance, and noone was interested

I didn't think her performance was dreadful, now Chico, Nicholas and The Conways on the other hand, were dire.

I wouldn't say I am a fan of hers, I think i voted for her the 1st week, but i just didn't think it was fair thats all. Thought she had more talent than the Conways. Sure even SC is said to have turned his back on them..... Apparently they are gone too big for their boots. Theres a story on this and another couple of stories I've read that say that. It wouldn't suprise me tho. They live down the way from my cousins and apparently they think they are the best thing since sliced bread and have done so for a while.

The end of the story was more interesting. Seems like Louis got booed by everyone when he turned up to switch the Oxford street xmas lights on with Westlife...

I can understand Maria being upset at being eliminated, but she didn't perform well on Saturday. It was unfortunate that Sharon chose that song for her, and also that the public vote on the night's performance, not on past record, but that's the way it goes. Perhaps a brief comment and then dignified silence while she gets on with seeking a career would be better than splashing herself all over the cheaper end of the press.

I come from Liverpool - I dont read the Sun or look at the website. But I cant believe Maria is selling her story to the likes of them. And why do we need to know about her private life anyway? Making money as usual.

agreed. If she starts doing kiss and tells etc.. she wont do herself any favours!
I dont really blame the acts for cashing in on their fame but i just hope they go about it the right way and im not sure selling your story to the scum newspaper is the RIGHT way

Who else thinks that if she was saying something along the lines of :

- 'I don't blame Louis, he was in a difficult position, the song choice was bad, and I should've stuck to my guns and gone with my own choice. The public didn't think I deserved to go through so I'll have to take some time to catch up with family and then get back out there to prove that I am worth a recording deal' -

that she would be getting less newspaper coverage but more public sympathy and possibly the interest of someone in the music industry?

It's a double edged sword, when something like this happens, you either grab every headline offered and put some money in the bank, or risk acting with dignity in the hope that it will stand you in good stead when you are out trying to impress the right people.

Maria is talented, not my cuppa, but with the right input she could do well. In her position right now I would be trying to impress the right people. Maybe I'm wrong and it's best to grab the money whilst you can.
