Can some one please tell me how the hell when you have an accident at Holby do you bypass A&E and get strait to the ward, you have to be stabalised in A&E before going to the wards,it does not happen in life,so please Holby get more realistic, also bring back Antone Myer (sp) the program is dying

I don't know whether they still do it, but they did go thorugh a phase of using the terms AAU and MAU (Accident Assessment Unit & Medical Assessment Unit). If a major incident comes into a hospital, they normally go straight to AAU or MAU - I usually do when I have my allergic reactions. These are based in the A&E department, but are set up as wards too, to deal with these cases as they tend to need obs at regular intervals. A small seating area or curtained cubicle would not suffice in a major accident.
