Character Crossovers

With so many soap actors moving between soaps with new characters, I have a question.

If any one character could move to another soap and get involved in a storyline with another character, who would they be and why?

I'd have to say for me, if I could have my own way, I'd love a rivalry between Tracy Barlow and Janine Butcher. Something like Janine comes and gets her hands into Nathan and lures him away, while Tracy can only watch.

Ooh, the fireworks...

Dennis still needs to work his way around the ladies of Corrie Emmerdale and Hollyoaks.

The people in charge of Corrie and Emmerdale are a thick as two short planks. Imagine the ratings if theyd had crossovers between the two soaps with characters going from one to another, it would give Emmerdale a ratings boost as Corrie viewers tune in to see their faves and vice versa.

For instance, wouldnt it have been good sense to have Mad Maya Sharma escape Weatherfield after blowing up the street and find refuge in the quiet village of Emmerdale, assuming a new identity?
When Crossroads was still on, ITV should have had characters from Corrie and Emmerdale crossover to that show to help give it a kick start.

it does seem odd that ITV have never tried to do a crossover with there soaps

however they did one with Bad Girls & Footballers Wives

And that was a ratings winner. I think it would be more likely that an Emmerdale character went to visit their relative in Weatherfield, but it could work both ways. Hmmm what about if Chloe had gone to Weatherfield for a bit after leaving Emmerdale? Good?

Are Emmerdale/Corrie run by the same company? Emmerdale is Granada Yorkshire isn't it?

Like for Bad Girls/FW, both are made by Shed so a crossover was easy...

Corries is Granda & Emmerdale is Yorkshire, it makes it more tricky, but if ITV want it they can make it happen.

Hmm, I thought Emmerdale was "Granada Yorkshire" now (didn't they merge or something?), and that Corrie was possibly the same. Not at all certain on that though.

"Reggie" Holdsworth appeared in the Dingles in Venice spin-off video, played by Ken Morley. Not exactly a great appearance but the only Emmerdale/Corrie crossover thus far!

Matt Musgrove was the first character to appear in two soaps first in Brookside then in Hollyoaks. Philip Olivier aka Tinhead O'Leary and the lad who played Steve Murray in Brookie were also rumoured to be crossing over in character after Brookie was cancelled but it ended up not happening.

Apart from Tanya Turner I can't think any other characters who have crossed over.

now ITV owns itself, it would seem even if they are made by diffrnt production companys, they are both owned by ITV, so that would help smooth out any legal issues.

D'ya think one day, they'll reveal that all the different, many and varied characters that Sherrie Hewson has played are really the same person using pseudonymas because of a horrific criminal past?
