Who likes the Conways Sisters' personalities?
I don't mind their act - it isn't the best or worst, it's very mediocre really - but I don't like the Conways as people at all. They have a few problems methinks. I remember one Xtra Factor where they threw a strop, supposedly as a joke, but they were too convincing for it not to be real. And every time they appear in the Xtra Factor where they have to show love for another contestant, they struggle for an articulate sentence. They seem too false. I don't like their attitude towards Simon either. He's not a magician. Do they expect him to wipe their bottoms for them or what? I don't think they are nice people at all.
What do you think? |

I've only really seen them on the main x-factor shows, but they seem like nice enough girls.

I know that the evidence would suggest that they aren't exactly the nicest of girls on the planet but you ought to keep an open mind about how they are portrayed on the TV and judge them on their singing performance. I mean, if everyone in show business had to be squeaky clean we'd never have heard of Oasis, apart from it being a soft drink that is.

ITs difficult to judge from what we see on the shows (even the 24/7 and extra don't add much as its all edited anyways).
However, there is something about them that I do not like - Mardy sums them up to me. that was the problem I had with Maria as well - her personality grated on me. |

I think they're given bad press personality-wise, because of what is perceived as a permanent "scowl", on the part of the lead singer.. Personally, I think that's just the shape of her mouth, as opposed to some sort of threatening grimace.
![]() The blonde girl always seems fairly cheery on the whole, and I think they come across as being quite gracious when they're being criticised (we appreciate your comments.. blah, blah, blah..). I know they do have a tendency to blame their performances on Simon, but to be fair.. he has given them some deadly songs (One Voice), that aren't that easy to harmonise.. Also, when they see Sharon and Louis praising their own acts, no matter how dismal the performance (Chico's "Hero" |

They dont seem to do to well in ther songs because basically they are rubbish............... they have got to get past blaming simon for there bad performances because thats what they are judged on, not the song , not the lyrics and not what colour knickers they are wearing!!!!

I think they are a bit stroppy, and I also thought the same about Maria. I'm not too keen on Brenda's personality, either, but the others seen OK.

When Simon compliments acts such as Chico every week I'm not surprised that The Conways are ever so slightly annoyed that Simon gives them crap songs every week, runs them down, makes digs at them all the time, shows obvious favouritism to Journey South and generally gives them absolutely no support whatsoever in an attempt to make himself look good for being "honest" enough to criticise one of his own acts.

That lead singer was smirking wen Louis said Maria's name, and it wasn't a nice smirk. Also she smiled at the audience as they walked off and the smile left her face the instant she turned sideways, you know in that way when someone fake smiles at you when they think you're looking?
And they do whinge incessantly and think nothing is ever their fault. Also you hear other acts praising each other, and I've never ever heard any of the others praise them and say how nice they are. As for threatening to leave and not do the results show just because Simon criticised them, who on earth do they think they are? They are incredibly lucky to even be there in the first place, and should be grateful to Simon for that. I reckon if they'd been in Sharon's group, they would have been sent home in favour of 4th Ba5e or The Brothers before the live shows, and it's hardly Simon's fault that they are so objectionable to so many people. They say that 'I appreciate your comments...' thing to cover up what they're really saying. They don't mean it. If they did they wouldn't argue with those comments and diss the judges every time they hear something they don't like. Shane and Brenda seem to have a similar problem there. The only people that seem to take on board what the judges say and use it wisely are JS, Andy, Nicholas and oddly, Chico. |

The lead singer in particular seems very sour-faced. She always looks as if shes just sucked on a lemon. I truly believe they think they are something special no matter what anyone (even Simon their mentor) thinks.
Hopefully this week they will end up last and disappear back to the Irish pop charts. Least seen, best forgotten. |

I disagree with you there. Brenda has never criticised the judges - never. Nicholas however did criticise Simon and then next week after he was rapped over the knuckles for it ( and rightly so) kept his mouth shut when his performance was assessed. |

i thought they were pathetic on saturday the way they slated simon and then gave louis evils.
they seem really up them selves and i bet they are really moody when they dont get their own way especially that lead singer. Sometimes on the 24/7 show they seem okay but im starting to think they maybe just play up to the camera |

In the case of bands like Oasis, it was the MUSIC we heard first and then we got to know what they were like. It was nothing like the fake situation of 12 acts living in a house. That becomes a soap and they in turn become characters. What i am saying is in that situation, you cannot judge anything about a persons real character, so it's best to judge on who you like most musically.....

LOL thought I saw the words "Conway sisters" and "personalities" in the same sentence. Must be my mistake

Actually, having seen them on 24/7 tonight, I actually felt sorry for them. They did seem genuinely upset about the way things turned out. Seeing Simon in the papers saying he'd made the wrong choice must have been hard to take

I don't like their personalities at all. If they don't like the songs they are "given" why dont' they say so and come to a compromise, you always see them on xtrafactor during the week saying how happy they are with the song, then when they get criticised on saturday nights, it's all simons fault for "making" them sing the song! It's also pretty clear that they have no interest in what simon has to say. He has a hell of a lot more experience than them (ok he's not ALWAYS right, but 99.9% of the time he is) and they just throw it back in his face and start moaning about how its all his fault that they can't sing. I think they're pathetic. And I'm not a Maria fan! (Kind of off topic but I think Simon was relying on Louis to vote the conways off on saturday night, if he'd known Louis was keeping them, I think Simon would have voted off his own act.)
