It is very true that EASTENDERS and CORONATION compete with each other.. Everyone knows this. They do theirselfs try to beat each other.. It's a known fact.

Some people seem to think it is against the law to mention them both in the same sentence

I agree.. I mention them alot, together. and Emmerdale. They absoloutly do compete. The reason why EastEnders was made was to compete with ITV's Corrie.#

On 15 YEARS OF EASTENDERS VIDEO.

I think it was Mathew Robbinson who said (When being interviewed by Babs Windsor..)

Quote:
“ The BBC wanted to have a new soap to compete with ITV'S Coronation Street.”

Exactly.. Well this debate had potential to be good, but sadly Nancy Leathers has already reported me to the administration team Let's end it here.

Everybody knows they were made to compete with each other. But some people think that maybe if you're going to start a Coronation Street thread then stick with Coronation Street and don't involve the other soaps, as however good EastEnders may be, it isn't really going to back up your argument. As I said though you made some really good points MattPond and I agree with you on many of them.

Well I'll say it anyway. I haven't reported you. I'm sorry if you thought I did. If I were going to report you Then I would have done so rather than "debating" with you.

Please don't mention me by name again.

Unless someone else has made you annoyed tonight I can only deduce you have alerted the administrators about ME

Well I am sorry but I did want to highlight how the tides have turned.

Considering Nancy Leathers will have reported me for saying something tiny and pretending it offended him/her so much they are considering therapy or something I doubt I will be here to make any more good points much longer

I am begining to wonder what "alt" means

And this is my ONLY account on here. I've only ever been a member of 3 forums: BBC Messageboards, TalkWalford and SoapBoards....

If I am banned for anything it will be Nancy's doing.

I'm sure you won't be banned, the moderators will review the posts and see you haven't actually said anything to get banned.

I said something I regret to Nancy earlier - "Finally, you replied with something worth reading!"

Also many people think I am deliberatly causing arguments but I actually didn't want one

Anyway I have to go now. I doubt I'll be back

Alt means alternative character, like on games where you have your main, and then your alt... here I was meaning alt as your alternative account on here.

I just felt you first post felt like an attack post. True Corrie isn't a good as it should be, this Dev storyline is silly, but I don't think it should be axed, EE wasn't axed when it went through a bad period.

It is trailing behind all the other soaps,

Who would have thought the following would be on our screens a few years ago

Deeeeev Aaallaaaahahnnn being exposed as a serial sh*gger who supposedly has all these secret kids - who he didn't care about when Maya was burning things down? SLOPPINESS

 Some nobody playing with some pigs

A panto wedding that looked like something out of Comic Relief

I would be interested to hear what the Corrie fans have to say... maybe they should admit defeat when it's staring them in the face...

EastEnders has risen and now Coronation Street has fallen... and is falling fast...

RIP Corrie 1960 - 2005”

Whilst you are fully entitled to your opinion threads like these only cause trouble.

I disagree with what you have said, Corrie might be below standard at the moment but its been worst than this in the past, MUCH worst, and im sure there is no chance it will be axed as its ITV most popular series.

I've been watching Corrie for 30 years. I've been watching EE since the first episode. They're both quality entertainment, they're also (to me) both very different soap dramas, and they've both seen major lulls during their history; part and parcel of very long-running TV programmes is the 'peaks and troughs'. To suggest one or t'other should be axed when it's going through a bit of a dull patch is one heck of a sweeping statement which doesn't really make any sense, especially when you consider that even in these lulls, such programmes are still raking in millions of viewers.

This thread was only intended to cause disruption.
