When Diane first came into Emmerdale I remember a scene where she was in her room, and it was revealed that she has really short black hair, and wears a wig.

Yes it was revealed then she decided to dye it blonde but its still obviously a wig but in the world of emmerdale its now her real hair.

I prefer her hair brown because it looks a hell of a lot better than the blonde wig that she wears. I'd like her to change it, but if it's her real hair then she won't. (Real hair in the show that is.)

Didn't she have a wig in the show, then officially get rid of it, allowing her to show off the character's "real" hair? Or is that what you meant? I seem to remember scenes with people saying "oh you've lost your wig" etc.

maybe she wears a blonde wig so as not to look too much like one of her former characters and therefore traumatise Emmerdale viewers in their late 20s, early 30s...

I think they should get rid of it, I dont know if the blonde hair really adds to the character. Elizabeth real hair looks so much better.
