Maria's odds are mysteriously dropping like a stone on Betfair (compared to what they were). The highest odds you can get are now 55/1, which is alot lower than the Conways! Considering she's already been put out, this is verging on the bizarre, unless.....

On itv just before the news they mentioned x factor and i think said something like "maria who is out of the contest, at the moment" though i wasn't really listening too closely so may have misheard.

It was during the closing credits for the Take That documentary. They were playing "Never Forget" and after the line "soon this will all be someone else's dream" the announcer said "Well the dream is over for poor old Maria, at least for now, but the remaining seven contestants will sing it out again on Saturday........"

I only took it to mean as losing this week doesn't mean she won't necessarily have a career in music, nothing more suspicious than that.

Don't read too much into the betting. It could just be some people getting her mixed up with Brenda. A similar thing happened in PI2 when people were placing bets on Kim after she was voted out thinking she was Michelle.

It's very naughty of the bookmakers to accept the bets but they can plead ignorance.

Well, I'm not saying it's true. All I know is, I just came on checked on the odds at Betfair a few minutes ago, and her odds were 55/1, they since dropped further and are now hanging round 20/1. It might well be all based on rumour, or some accidently misleading comment made on ITV. But there's been unpresidented disquiet about her removal, so if they're ever going to bring anyone back...

If they brought Maria back the programme would have to be extended for an extra week. So cannot see how they could bring her back. You could also argue that 4tune should be brought back too because Sharon chose Chenai over them that week "because she was a girl"

well if your gonna bring back tune and maria then chenai should also be bought back then because simon said hed vote purely on performance but then he saved Nicholas despite saying chenai did a better performance!

All the judges are guilty of lying so what? Its not big deal and there no point bringing the acts back thats just silly!

Or the Conways WALK before this weeks show and they put Maria back in ... highly unlikely but never say never eh! it would make the show even more of a farce than it already is.. and they are playing such a game.. all over the press good publicity... so up go the ratings and they hope the voting.. not from me will they get more voting no matter what happens.

There is no way they will be bringing her back. Unless of course the conways give up their place, which I very much doubt. Whether Louis was right or wrong to vote her off, thats the competition, they can't bring her back now! If the public had voted she wouldn't have been in the bottom two, we all need to learn that lesson - if they brought her back then what was the point in voting last week?!

That's right.

and we should also bring Philip back because Louis made him sing 'Wing beneath my Wings'

and the Addiciv Ladies, because they had hardly gotten started.

Am I right in saying the final will be on Christmas Eve? If so, then I really dont' think they will extend the show, unless they do something stupid and get rid of 2 per week or something!

It is just an oversight by the webmasters on Betfair.

They have forgotten to remove her name from the main list of odds. Look at the odds for the over-25s category and at the odds for elimination next week and you will see that Maria's name has been removed from both those lists.

If you don't mind me saying, completely wrong. The odds have dropped significantly

It's not an oversight by Betfair - they always leave eliminated runners up on Special Bets in case they return.

And while the odds look like they dropped to 18s, they were only actually matched as low as 40s.

Betfair is an automated service. Odds for one candidate are automatically adjusted depending on the bets being placed on them AND on others.

Have a look at the elimination list for 19/11. She is not there. There are also no forward odds for her on the over-25s list, just like there are no odds for Chenai and Phillip in the 16-24s list or for 4Tune and Addictiv Ladies in the Groups list even though their names are all still there.
