I think Shayne should have a go at 'Prince's' - 'Most Beautiful Girl in the World'. He'd be good at that!! )

I've already posted this elsehwhere but to get your thread going I think JS should sing "Goodbye my lover" James Blunt. Your suggestion for Nicholas is a great song - but risky given Lemar has just covered it so well?

Conways - "Wannabee" or "Runaway"
Brenda - "I will survive" or "I'm every woman", in fact give her a disco diva number.
Shayne - "You raise me up" or "Rock Your Body"
Andy - "The Whole Town is Laughing At Me" or "Sittin' At The Dock of The Bay".
Journey South - "More than words" or "Patience" by Guns N Roses
Chico - Nothing
Nicholas - Nothing

If I had to put in evicted contestants:

Maria - "I will always love you" or "Independent Woman"
4tune - "Swear it again" or "back for good"
Phillip - "Suscpious Minds" or "Hurt"
Addictiv Ladies - "Cry Baby" by Jemini as they were on par with that duo.
Chenai - "In The Ghetto" as she kept going on about it

I think Nicholas should sing a Lemar song ("time to grow."?????) ...think that would really suit him. "on the wings of love"????? he did a good job but for godsakes Louis he's 18 not 58!!!! He needs something his own age. Thought Shayne did a great job on Saturday. Hard for an amateur to pull off dancing and singing at the same time. I think a good powerful song like "Feel" or "she's the one" but I am really looking forward to "a million love songs"

I would love to hear Brenda go for a Whitney song.... "greatest Love Of All" maybe???? Some strong Diva song, or to really test her "unbreak my heart" by Toni Braxton...wat you think???

Is that not enough? Now you want him to put another nail in the coffin

I take your point, I do, it's just some songs are so heavily associated with an artist it's almost an insult to hear anyone else perform them.

Most of the Marvin Gaye back catalogue requires his amazing vocals and rarely do you ever hear a cover version that can be compared with them

His (Nicolas) performance of “Lets Get It On”, no exaggeration, was offensive.

i take your point. I can see what you mean. But I think that Louis Wally Walsh is tryin to hard to make him appeal to different age groups, hence the Marvin Gaye songs etc I think given a few years he might be able to perform those songs but for the moment I don't think he's done too bad of a job. Granted, "lets get it on" was nothin like Marvin Gaye's version. He was, and still is a legend! but Wally Walsh does that with all his groups and acts. Westlife have "when you tell me that you love me" on their album, as well as "desperado" !!!! Boyzone had really old Irish songs on theirs. He isn't exactly with the times you know. I don't think that Nicholas can be held totally accountable.

I'm just trying to find a way to keep him in the competition. Out of 5 performances, only Let's Get it On was a success. Partly because the nature of the song hides some of the tunign problems. Partly because it suits his image. He is not a scratch on Marvin Gaye. Who is? It's all about not finishing in the bottom two. His cred is shot after the Michael Jackson debacle. I'm rolling the dice here!!!

I think he should sing a younger song. Lemar or Craig david might suit him more. Or what about the A1 song "like a rose" I know it's a bit of a corny songbut i think he could put his own stamp on it. i think even the song for Saturday night might even be a bit too old for him. Trying a duet is always going to be risky but that is such a hard song to sing......

I don't know the A1 song. I think he would be doing better than he is if he was singing Lemar and Craig David. I suspect if you were choosing the songs instead of Louis, he wouldn't be in the difficulty that he is now.

I bet he has thought of it, and has it up his sleeve for the final, where everyone expects Journey South to feature.

In fact, the other week when they sat down on their stools with just an acoustic guitar, I was convinced (having missed all the ITV2 shows that week and hence having no idea what JS's song choice was) that they were going to do More Than Words right there and then.

I imagine we won't see Shayne do the Darkness until there are few enough acts left that they do more than one song each. That way he can do something more conventional if his Justin Hawkins impression doesn't work.

I can't really see shayne pulling that song off, I don't know, maybe he will pull a rabbit out of a hat, but i can't see it working for him.... Maybe....Flying without wings or something..... especially if they get to do 2 songs. A ballad and an uptempo song would do him justice
