Hi all,a question recently ditched a fvrt150 digifusion in favour of the hxg710,generally very inpressed a much more stable machine, but after doing a couple of late night recordings i have noticed a foible/fault after setting timer and leaving unit in standby program records ok but fan/hdd noise seems to continue way after recording ends(up to a couple of hours)as the unit is in my bedroom this sometimes wakes me up,so i have tried switching unit on (everything ok)but when i try to switch it off again the power off on the display does't appear and noise continues ,has anybody else noticed this or should i be heading back to the high street for a replacement?

Mine seems to do the same, sometime when I get up at 7 the fan is going, even though it hasn't been recording. My old RDR-GXD500 did the same too.

mine doesn't. As soon as I switch it on standby, the fan stops.

My hxd710 does the same first thing every morning - according to the handbook it's the EPG updating itself

My 500 does this, and if you turn it on it comes on practically straight away (as if it is in the middle of recording).

I find it hard to believe that it is the EPG updating, because it picks up new channels and name changes that have occured during the day, and I've even seen name changes happen while switching between channels.
