What the heck happened!

I ended up (not drugged after last week) but involved in a huge fight with a tipsy OH, who decided to come home and be obnoxious just as SCD started. So I couldn't get to the doors in time.

We have made up since...but after last week when he got me a bottle of wine and I passed out, and this week, what with said row, I missed all the show and had to watch the video a little while ago....

I am seriously starting to wonder if my OH has been nobbled by the beeb.

I have just got back from my night out and literally have tears rolling down my face - with sadness that our seemingly foolproof plan was such an abject failure and with hysterical laughter at the unfolding drama. What a disaster. What on earth happened to Gloria? Did the otter mess up?

But no recriminations - we will have to come up with something better next week.

Who do you think we should get to play the otter in the movie of all this?

It was the otters fault this time. Seemingly he was sat in the back of the ambulance watching the results show, hankie in hand, sequined of course by Brendan, ready to wave it to give the tap dancing signal, when he got over emotional at the sight of Karen in tears and Bill nearly in tear, he then got all sniffy and teary eyed, raised the hankie to blow his nose, now I don't know if you've ever blown you nose with a sequined encrusted hankie, but it aint a good idea, there was blood and screaming (and that was just Brendan) and by the time it was cleared up Karen and Bill had been got out

Yes, I had a bit of a sniffle watching last night.

My my - what a fiasco.

Never fear. I've been on the blower and B&K are coming to join our dance-competition out here, just as soon as their done with Clauds on Monday; we'll seize them after ITT.

The otter has been admonished, he got a short sharp visit from the Smack Fairy (and I'm not talking about illegal substances either), and he's sat at that little writing desk over there writing apologies to all of us, and especially Brendan.

I've just finished sorting Brendan out - his injuries I mean - and now he's offered to take me on a trip for a few days out of gratitude. Now, I wouldn't normally trust the lad, but Tiny is vouching for him and I do trust my ickle Tiny. We're off somewhere as a surprise and I'm not sure where but apparently I need my passport and also to make sure I've got my revision notes and a sharpened pencil. Never fear, I will communicate with you via carrier pigeon and drop notes to the ambulance where allybee's stunt mice can pass them on to you all.

Could you guys look after Tiny for me? He reckons he's a big boy and doesn't need to be elephant-sat, but we all know how cranky he gets withouth his fix of spicy custard.

And thinking caps for a new plan next week eh?

I'll Tiny-mind for you, Happy, although I don't actually have access to a microwave at the moment, so he may have to eat his custard cold. Is that a problem?

Shouldn't Bill rest his ankle for a bit? Perhaps he could sit in the back of the ambulance for a while till it recovers. I'd be happy to sit with him and have a chat, and I'm sure there are plenty of other lovely ladies around here who'd be willing to join him...

As for next week, I really have no clue. The Beeb are a clever bunch, I tell you: weakening our team by taking key members, then somehow arranging prior engagements for many of our members. And I'll bet they were behind that hanky, too. We shall have to be vigilant.

Wily as rats, they are.

They sure are, even down to putting Brucie up to mentioning a parrot in the audience, just to distract us from our custard tactics................what is the world coming to........

Listen, please tell me that the Smack Fairy was tripped up by the mice and knocked unconscious before she could visit her terrible punishment on the Otter. To be sure, he messed up, maybe got a bit carried away with the Die Hard element and didn't quite focus on the immediate practicalities. Can happen to us all. As a dedicated advocate of peace and opponent in almost all circumstances of violence, please don't let the otter be harmed.

I would be really happy to take Tiny - I tend to make my custard from scratch though. Does that matter? And is it ok to do it with double cream occasionally as a special treat?

I guess some cardamom along with the vanilla should make it spicy enough for him.

He might be able to help with something - and so might the rest of you. Our goldfish, Daisy and Daffodil, are a bit miffed that they didn't get asked to help out in last night's operation. I did explain that the fact that they need at ank makes undercover work a bit difficult, but they suggested that they could be smuggled into the SCD production office to act as spy fish and report back. What do you all think? Their Great Aunt Hermione was a half babel fish so they're both quite good at languages

*whispers in case the BBC are listening*

Brilliant: they'll never suspect that. But how do we get them in to the office? Perhaps we could persuade Bill to drop them by now he's out? I assume the news is done in the same building, and I'm pretty certain he'd be up for helping the cause...

*raises voice again*

Nothing to see here, folks. Nope. Nothing fishy going on...

If not Bill, maybe Anton could come up here and pick them up and smuggle them in when he's in for ITT this week?
libby3107

After all, Bill might be a bit upset with us for failing so miserably on Saturday night - best to let the dust settle for a bit.

Good plan, Bill can be given our spy fish on the way into see Claudia and then he can come out to sit in the ambulance for teatime with the protestors for a chat.

Never fear Libby, the Smack Fairy only visited him and gave him a good telling off and told him to write sorry letters - he looks like he's almost done. Tiny has been chatting to him them, I think he's got a little fan there He's obviously compensating for the loss of Brendan - that kiwi seems to have an affinity for the animals.

Oooh and fresh custard, even cold custard - the offers are most kind, perhaps you could take it in turns? But only cream occasionally as Tiny should be watching his wasitline. Cardomom is exactly right Good choice, perhaps some cloves and cinnamon on occasion too.

Right my pretties, Brendan calls - I wonder where I'm off to.
Expect those carrier pigeons when I get to wherever I'm being custard-whisked to

Happy! Taking a break?

Libby, just check with your fish and make sure they really are up for it- that was my fatal mistake with the stunt mice; they just weren't ready for the challenge. It was foolish in retrospect?

Make sure you imposed upon them the potential danger of task- there may be sabotage: all sorts of awful things might happen if the Beeb find out. It is not a task to be taken lightly. Are they up for it?

Excellent.

God's speed, little fishies...

Will they report back daily, or just wait till Friday and give us the full scope?
libby3107
27-11-2005
I guess we'll have to wait and see what they find out..............they have a laptop in their little castle so they're hoping to hack into the BBC network so they can e-mail their reports - scrambled - as often as they dare.

*carrier pigeon swoops down low and lands on Tiny and passes him a little blue enevelope*

"Hi guys! Wish you were here in sunny Rio, yes you read that right, I'm in Rio de Janeiro - it's swelteringly hot here Bit of a shock to the system after the frostiness of Blighty. You remember Brendan told me to bring some revision books with me? Well it seems that there is a annual 'Exam Carnaval' here, lasting for about 2 weeks, and he enrolled me. I didn't want to be rude, but I didn't exactly feel like thanking him However, once we arrived I forgave him a bit because we have the penthouse suite at the Hotel Copacabana right on Copacabana beach (separate beds mind). Brendan was testing me on my knowledge of Medical Ethics, Law and Public Health for my first exam today. Then we sat on the balcony and saw the sun set behind Sugarloaf Mountain

Anyhoo, this morning I snuck in a quick samba lesson at sunrise and Brendan and I hired bike and cycled to Exam 1, it went so-so, hard to tell with these things. Best shoot off now, have a 3 hour exam tomorrow morning... remind me to make sure Mr. Cole PAYS for everything - pfft.

How's the plan going? Fish got their cyanide pills if the worst comes to the worst, when's Bill arriving?

Love and sun-drenched hugs,

Glad to hear you and Brendan are having such a good time. Is he taking exams as well? I hope he's not out on the Copacabana flirting with the local ladies while you're slogging away.

The other thing too - if Brendan is taking exams, please tell me they're in dance, not medicine. I'm not sure I'd be entirely happy to be examined by Dr Cole...........................

My goodness, what a horrific idea. Yes, he should stick to what he's good at, and I get a strong feeling that it isn't medicine. Imagine going into surgery and discovering that Brendan's doing your operation...
