It was sad to see Sam leave tonight, I think she has overall been an excellent character on the show, but the way she has left, it'll mean she can't really come back!

I know Kim Medcalf, unfortunatley wanted to leave, but I'm sure she may of come back given a year or two. (I heard on an interview there was a hint of her regretting leaving once she heard phil/grant/peggy all returning)

I also cannot see how she'd get four years in prison, she didn't hit Den, or murder him in anyway, with the time she's done I'd be guessing she'd be in for a year, TWO MAX (but i don't know for sure)

Surley it would of been better to see her go down, and then after shes done her time, Kim may of wanted to go back, or if Sam was behaving well in prison they'd of reduced her sentence, if she decided to return sooner, if she didn't want to return at all then peggy could be delighted that sams coming home after finishing prison, only to find out (without kim being involved) that she has no plans of coming home, and moved back to spain.

I just think there were so many options rather than going for one that is so hard to bring her back.

I feel like I've rambling along, but I hope people can see my point...I think Kim Medcalf is a great actress and made Sam a good character, just dissapointed at the ending.

By running away, she'll probably have to serve her full 4 year sentence when she's caught, maybe more.

Not quite true. She could be given a small punishment for jumping bail but it would not effect any time off for good behaviour whilst inside.

Anyway we will soon see, because I phoned Walford Police myself at 9.0pm.

You'll have Phil and Grant on you now.

At least she's not dead! She can come back anytime and serve her sentence, which I'm sure would be a lot less than four years, what with time already served, good behaviour, etc. Any extra time she'd get for jumping bail could be cancelled out if she gave herself up.

I blame that stupid new lawyer for all this. She should never have been so categoric in her assessement - I think four years would really be a worst case scenario!

It's not the lawyer's fault if Kim Metcalf decided to leave the soap ! LOL

Yes but I have to blame someone - and since I don't much like the new lawyer it might as well be her

Afraid not. That's it. End of Sam........ although I'd have preferred Chrissie making it to South America with Jake....

Sam was a bitch herself all throu last year. Forgotten already ?
Besides none of this would have happened if Sam didn't go all stupid and drunk and started digging bodies.

Personally, i thought Kim Medcalf's best scene (it was sad, dramatic and a bit funny too!) was when she was crying to Andy that Marcus Christie had stolen all her money. And Andy's response was... "Don't you look ugly when you cry!" He threw her out and began eating Christmas cake!!!

Or maybe it was when she'd heard Andy left the house to Pat in his will and just his wedding ring to Sam so she could pawn it to get her roots done!!

Oh what brilliant memories...

I was surprised that the police didn't confiscate her passport, since she was out on bail.

Then again, I don't know why I am surprised, all soaps have different laws and rules to the rest of us.

It was a fake passport! Or was it?

Mental note: pay more attention...

I also wanted one last scene between Sam and Chrissie, this time with Sam grinding down Chrissie, sucking her dry, telling her how horrible in prison it'll be for her...give Sam a bit of satisfaction before her departure.

I agree Matthew. The last scene between them was when Sam was being driven off by the police at Sharon and Dennis's wedding. It seems like such a long time ago now.

I thought the same. Even if she does travel on a false passport how will she stay in Brazil without a visa?
Brazil may not have extradition agreements with the UK- think of the great train robber Bigss I think his name is. But certainly they would deport an illegal immigrant like Sam would be.

I suppose whoever arranged for the false passport took care of visa requirements as well.
More to the point for me is what on earth is she going to do in Brazil? I mean she's not very good at looking after herself even in Walford, is she?

I doubt if Grunt arrived there with a visa. I find it very impressive how Mr Beetroot can whistle up a forged passport just like that

I agree. But Grant's there. He'll make sure his little sister is OK. Don't forget (as Billy once said): Mitchells look after their own.

Or, like Zoe, Lisa, Mel and everyone else that went abroad they start a new life there and never to be talked about again.
